> It is important to remember that the true worth of a company is how they respond to problems and issues that might arise and whether they truly care about their customers and customer service. It is clear that customer service and satisfaction are not important to Stonesmith. The $6500+ granite countertops that were installed in my father-in-law's home were littered with cracks that formed as a result of shoddy installation. Rather than try to come up with a mutually acceptable solution, Stonesmith's proposal is to fill the cracks and have my father-in-law pay for it. I find it appalling that a company would sell a product to someone, essentially break it upon installation, and then ask the customer to pay for the repairs. If you find yourself in a similar situation, know you have options. Contractors like Stonesmith need to be registered with the CA Contractors State Licensing Board. File a claim, don't be a victim! And don't make the mistake of hiring Stonesmith for your countertops!
