It is beautiful. A: My carpenter built it based on my design **Q: What wall tiles did you use?** *(in Photo Questions)* I have been trying to find those tiles or at least similar but have had no luck. I really love your work. A: Thanks! I believe it’s by surface art. **Q: Fireplace ugh!** *(in Design Dilemma)* This house was built in 1990. This is a brick facade. I like the idea of exposed brick however this is hideous. There is about 1/2 inch depth to original mortar. I thought about a light mortar wash and bringing mortar flush to brick face. Don't really want to tear down the two stacks on the side but have never seen anything like it. The oval thing is going, just too heavy to remove for the photo. A: That is quite a statement piece! You're right, I don't think I've seen anything quite like it either. Depending on the look you're after for the overall room, might I suggest filling between the two stacks with wood? Maybe a reclaimed horizontal stack? Or white siding? Or vertical white raised paneling with a white mantel? Adding wood paneling will tie the two stacks together creating a more unified mantel. Could be a fun project! **Q: modern bedroom** *(in Design Dilemma)* recessed lighting only? or include chandelier? have peaked ceiling. A: It would help if you included a picture of the room you are referring to. Lighting plays a big part in the mood of a room. If you want a more modern look, recessed lighting is clean and unobtrusive. If you want a more traditional, romantic look a chandelier provides drama and style. Peaked ceiling or not, both lighting will work depending on the look you're after. **Q: NEED help with my exterior colors and siding** *(in Design Dilemma)* I'm wanting to update my house. Its a 1940's simple tudor. I have a mix of stucco, siding on upper half and lower half is natural brick. I am thinking of painting the brick and unifying the upper half in siding of some kind. I like cedar looking siding. I love grays and browns. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! A: Go to www.benjaminmoore.com/explore color and you can upload a pic of your home and have fun with all different colors and textures and actually see what it would look like. A nice white wash over the brick, while still keeping the brick's integrity would be nice with grey trim and white siding. **Q: Transitional Guest Bathroom** *(in Before & After)* A client needed an overhaul on her downstairs guest bathroom.
