Susan designed our primary living spaces in a new build home and did an excellent job creating spaces that are beautiful, functional, comfortable, and very “us.” She made the process incredibly easy, worked collaboratively with our builder and other vendors, and made sure everything came together seamlessly in the end. **Comment from Susan Sutter Interiors:** > Thanks so much for your kind words! Your new home turned out beautifully and we are happy to hear that the spaces were both beautiful, functional, and felt like "you." We strive to create curated spaces for our clients based on their styles and tastes. And we are lucky to have a group of talented trades working alongside our team to help bring these dreams to life. We wish you many years of happiness in your gorgeous new home and look forward to working with you on another project very soon! **★★★★★ — Emily Bauer, May 2023** > We can’t say enough great things about working with Susan Sutter who was the Designer for our Arlington Virginia home renovation. My husband and I decided we wanted to remodel our house by knocking down walls to create an open floor plan on our first floor, renovating our kitchen, living room, powder room, while also touching up ~70% of the remainder of our house. Having never done a renovation, we had no idea where to begin and felt overwhelmed, so we evaluated interior designers online. From the beginning, at the initial consultation, Susan was extremely kind and actively listened to all we were hoping to accomplish with the space which was a key factor to us choosing to work with her. Throughout our engagement, she was very transparent when talking about costs and timelines which was so helpful in making such big decisions. At our first design presentation, she was very receptive to any feedback we had and put our satisfaction above all throughout the process. We can happily say that Susan made our dream home come to life. Her attention to detail and her ability to create a custom space for each of her clients is far beyond what we could have hoped for. In addition, the level of communication that she holds between her clients as well as with the primary contractor, and her support in making emotional decisions is fantastic. She keeps everyone on the same page and keeps things moving forward smoothly. We cannot thank her enough and will absolutely be seeking her help for any future projects we decide to pursue. Thank you, Susan! **Comment from Susan Sutter Interiors:** > Thanks Emily for your kind words! We love to hear from happy clients and also are thrilled with this amazing transformation. We strive to provide clients with beautiful and functional spaces-- I believe we delivered that AND more! We hope you enjoy your amazing home for many years! We look forward to working with you on future projects. **★★★★★ — Whitney Johnson, March 2023** > Susan designed not only my office that repeatedly received rave reviews, but our entire common area. Her design sensibility is not only spot on, she manages the business aspect professionally and is super organized. Which we needed her to do because the project was almost entirely remote. **Comment from Susan Sutter Interiors:** > Thanks Whitney for your kind words. We enjoyed helping you with this fun project-- the results are amazing! Our design process and excellent organizational systems ensure a smooth project with excellent results for our clients. We look forward to working with you on future projects. We hope you enjoy your spaces for years to come! **★★★★★ — HU-379721544, Oct. 2021** > Susan was wonderful to work with. She has a great sense of style and we loved everything that she picked for us. She has a great eye for knowing what will work and pulled everything together perfectly. We also appreciated how quickly she responded to questions and kept us up-to-date throughout the process. She is also really easy to work with! We would definitely work with her again. **Comment from Susan Sutter Interiors:** > Thanks so much for your kind words and referrals. We enjoyed working with you on this project and love the results. We strive to keep clients informed and manage expectations about their project lead times, outcomes, and the design process. We are thrilled that you are pleased with the amazing outcome, as we are and look forward to working with you again soon! **★★★★★ — sandra151, Sept. 2021** > Working with Susan was delightful. She is personable and professional. I felt that she listened carefully to our objectives and preferences before presenting her proposal. Her suggestions were right on target with our style and budget. She was also prompt to report on the state of the work and the costs. In general a very positive experience. **Comment from Susan Sutter Interiors:** > Thanks for your kind words. I enjoyed working with you and love the amazing results. We strive to listen to our clients, provide regular project updates, and create designs curated for each client. We look forward to working with you on future projects in your beautiful home! **★★★★★ — Jessie Brairton, Feb. 2021** > After Susan completed a remarkable great room design for us, we turned to her again to decorate our screened porch. Her knowledge of fabrics and materials, not to mention her creativity, helped turn the room into an outdoor oasis for our family. Our new space flows seamlessly into our home's interior. I highly recommend Susan's design services for both indoor and outdoor spaces! **Comment from Susan Sutter Interiors:** > Thank you Jessie-- I loved working with you in your fun, new spaces. We aspire to create rooms that are custom created to each client's needs. I know this screen porch will be one to enjoy for years! We look forward to working with you again soon. **★★★★★ — Whitney, Aug. 2020** > We hired Susan to design and decorate our home office. She did this remotely because we live in rural Virginia. Because she is organized and meticulous, as are her contractors, this was possible. > > We are thrilled with the result! > > Not only do I like her design sensibility, I appreciated her willingness to be discovery-driven. We had a plan for the area rug, for example, but as the office came together, and we wanted to try something different, she was willing to adapt. A back-and-forth process. > > We would definitely hire her again–––and plan on doing so! **Comment from Susan Sutter Interiors:** > Thanks Whitney-- we strive for client satisfaction on each and every project and are happy to hear you are pleased with your stunning new work space. Careful planning and clear communication are key to a successful design project and our business, and even more critical on remote projects like this one. We look forward to working with you on future projects! **★★★★★ — Jeanne Meagher, July 2020** > Susan did an outstanding job completely redesigning, furnishing and decorating our basement including a living space, a play area and a guest bedroom. From the gorgeous but extremely functional built-ins to the bench seating to the wallpaper in the guest bedroom making it pop - we love all of it! Thank you Susan for completely re-imagining our basement and making it into a fun, beautiful space. **Comment from Susan Sutter Interiors:** > You are welcome Jeanne, thanks for sharing your positive experience. This was such a fun project using bold colors and patterns! Our goal is to provide both functional and beautiful interior design and exceed client expectations on every project and we certainly accomplished that here. With improved storage and functionality in the basement media and playroom with custom cabinetry to a cozy, beautiful guest bedroom retreat, these results really improve the overall livability in the home. I look forward to collaboration on future projects and hope you enjoy your new space-- just in time to hunker down during COVID. **★★★★★ — Carly Robb, July 2020** > Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, Susan was able to exceed our expectations. She designed 2 bathrooms, a family room, and foyer for us. Her designs were functional, beautiful, and timeless - exactly what we were looking for. I had never worked with a designer before - but after working with Susan - I will never try to remodel or redesign a space without her expertise. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and willingness to listen allowed for a wonderful experience and final product. **Comment from Susan Sutter Interiors:** > Thanks Carly for the rave review! Despite the challenge of completing a major remodel and transformation of several rooms during a pandemic, your project was so much fun to work on. The end results are amazing spaces that have been truly transformed to be more functional and beautiful for the whole family to enjoy. We look forward to future projects with you. **★★★★★ — Ana Alvarez, April 2020** > Susan worked with us to redesign our dining room and living area. She was very approachable, and provided excellent recommendations. Most importantly, she was very practical, taking into consideration the fact that we have children and pets and factoring that into all of the recommendations. We really enjoyed working with her **Comment from Susan Sutter Interiors:** > Thank you Ana for sharing your positive experience on your design project. We strive to make every project personalized and custom for each client's lifestyle and aesthetic. I'm so glad that we were able to find you upholstery products in performance fabrics that will stand the test of time with families and pets and add function to your space with new built in cabinetry. It looks amazing and I know you will enjoy it for years to come! I look forward to working with you again on future projects! **★★★★★ — Alye Foster, April 2020** > Susan helped us with a kitchen, master bath, and master bedroom remodel and a significant remodel of the first floor and our front porch. Susan redesigned our kitchen into a more functional space and gave us the island we wanted. Her design of our master bath was also excellent. She found us a top notch, detail oriented builder. She also oversaw every aspect of the remodel and worked closely with the builder so that the process was very seamless for us. She helped us make some great selections including beautiful fixtures that we would never have found on our own. Her keen sense of design and color gave us a house that is both beautiful and comfortable. Susan is a pleasure to work with, personable, and professional. We could not have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend Susan! **Comment from Susan Sutter Interiors:** > Thank you Alye for the kind words and sharing your positive experience. Our goal is to provide both functional and beautiful interior design and exceed client expectations on every project and boy, did we do that here! I enjoyed working with you through this major remodel, and am thrilled with the results--a home that reflects your personality and taste, improved functional spaces in the kitchen and bathroom, and light and bright updated decor to entertain family and friends. What material is the window made of (vinyl, aluminum, painted wood?) The gist of this is that I have an existing wooden window in a bathroom that needs remodeling and there is not much wiggle room in funds. If that window opening can be used, and some replacement put in, that would be an option. Perhaps you have could share your thoughts about it? A: Thanks for your interest in our design project. This was an existing window that we embraced into the design because we loved the natural light and cost to move was very high. We made no changes to the wood frame window, except adding a new wider trim surround and a great new window shade to compliment the interiors. **Q: wall color is it white** *(in Photo Questions)* Beautiful wall color can you share brand and name A: Hi thanks for your interest-- the wall color is Benjamin Moore Gray Owl. Best of luck with your project. **Q: Shower door to coordinate with Delata champagne bronze fixtures** *(in Design Dilemma)* I've purchased Delta Trinsic faucet & shower fixtures, but I'm stuck on finding a frameless sliding shower door. Any suggestions? A: Looking for medicine cabinets that also match the Delta champagne bronze finish? Any options out there? **Q: Where can I find these pillows?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: Thanks for your inquiry, these pillows are custom designed for our client. --- *Source: Houzz professional profile.
