This is a studio apartment, so you're looking at the main room and I want to have a lot of light coming in. I want to buy sheer curtains but I'm not sure how many, since this is an odd collection of windows. Plus there's that AC unit at the end with little shelves built into the window above it, so I'll just use books for privacy in that window, haha. I'm also not sure if I should hang the sheers above the transoms or below. I do want them to reach the floor (but not puddle). The width of the windows from the left wall edge to the AC is 102". I've noticed curtain panels are available in so many different widths - from 30-something inches to 50-something inches - and I don't want them to bunch up so much with folding fabric that light gets blocked. I just don't know what to do. Buy wide panels and simply hang one on the left edge, and one just to the left of the AC, and call it a day? Or buy four narrow panels and bunch them up at each window frame? And should I buy 100"+ panels and hang from above transoms to floor, or buy 80"+ and hang from below transoms to floor? Thanks for any advice!! PS the radiator has been removed so it's not a factor. A: Agree with flair lighting, Roman Shade will look the best for these windows. Will do 3 outside mounted, all the way to ceiling. Can operate each shade separately. Tell them this is Lantana Shutter which is the Gear system, so there is no tilt bar from inside and outside. Request to have a divider rail at the height that you like to keep privacy if you close the bottom half. **Q: Window covering for west facing bedroom** *(in Design Dilemma)* I've been struggling with selecting window covering for our house which we have a west facing bedroom with 3 large windows that would cover say about 70% of the wall. Right now we have faux wood horizontal blinds but I'd like to give it a different look. I heard of Hunter Douglas Silhouette which I like but I don't know if it would be enough to cover the sun in the afternoon? What other options do you suggest? A: Silhouette is a great choice. Not only they look good & they give easy control of light. When they roll up, there are no stack to block the view. They block 80% of UV even when the vanes are open. Thanks Kim A: Agree with laurakdesigns , using Hunter Douglas's Silhouette Window Shade will be the best choice for a wide window. May just use one to cover all the bay windows. If we use 5 of the shades inside the bay, since the headrail (about 2 1/2" thick)'s projection will cause some gap in between the shades. **Q: What to use as window covering for windows with deep ledge** *(in Photo Questions)* What to use as window shade:curtain A: I recommend to use Screen Shade so that you will see the great view and at the same time get some UV protection from the sun. When you roll up the shade (prefer to use motorize control), there will be no stacking. Not recommend to use faux wood blind at all. Reason 1: It will be too heavy for such big window; Reason \#2: When you raise up the blind, there will be a big stack blocking the view.
