Our first recommendation is that Matrka will definitely have our business for any building/renovation we undertake in the future. These people live for excellence in everything they do! Of course the finished work is of top quality, but there are other builders who can do great craftsmanship. What sets Matrka apart is their commitment to helping you understand and create the home living experience that you really want. The first thing Mike does is create a cross-functional team for you, who will work with you through the entire project. They focus a LOT of attention on communicating with their clients to help them create a vision for their perfect living situation; this turned out to be the most important aspect of the project to us, as it set accurate expectations, improved upon our original ideas and allowed us to really engage with the staff. The entire staff is also packed with wonderful people, who really care and strive to make your residential dreams come true. My wife was the point person for the project, and she felt entirely supported and comfortable working with every member of the team. This is rarely our experience with residential services. Our French Country home is exceptional in many ways; however, the kitchen as originally built was too small and all of the appliances were out of date. This was a complicated job because it required removing existing walls, reworking electrical, plumbing and installing new appliances. > The team from Michael Matrka, Inc spent a great deal of time listening to our ideas and then presenting us with several plans. > There was no pressure at any time to accept any of the plans. They remained very interested in our continued feedback and used the feedback to create revised drawings. > They were willing to work with the original hard wood doors and siding and did an excellent job of finishing new wood to match the original stain. > They left the work site broom swept and organized before leaving each day. > They came in on time and within budget....(approximately a 5 month process- 1 month planning and 4 months construction) > I have worked with many remodeling companies and they are the first to have weekly update meetings throughout the entire 4 months of construction. Then arrived on time, cleaned up everyday and finished ahead of schedule. Beautiful new family room, kitchen, 1/2 bath, and full master suite. 17 years ago we put a new front porch on the house. Again, super professional, working with us and architects to be sure the front matched the style of home and proportions were on spot. 15 years ago we enclosed the screened-in porch creating a den/computer room. Windows all around, matching the 60 year old trims from the rest of the house. On schedule, within budget. 3 years ago, in the same house, we remodeled our 27 year old kitchen, and blew out the walls in the living room to make room for our expanding family. The old plank floors had to be matched, a new fireplace front and bookcases were added along with a updated kitchen. Questions are always responded to timely, Quality work, Great team. I highly recommend, and they are ALWAYS available after the job is done! To this day, I can call The Matrka Co and get someone to stop by, answer a question, help solve a problem should it arise.
