About Gray Houghland, RA, LEED AP, NCARB
Prior to launching Houghland Architecture in 1997, Gray Houghland worked for Skidmore, Owing & Merrill, one of the largest architectural firms in the United States, as well as several established firms in Charlotte, NC. He attended the School of Architecture at the University of Virginia, and received Advanced Standing in Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, where he received his Masters in 1988.

Initially, he met with us at our home and helped us think through many different ideas as to what we could do.  Then when we had chosen the way forward he worked up all the detailed plans.  In particular we appreciated his guidance and help with the choice of many of the detailed items of fixtures and fittings. Where did you get it?

A: I'm afraid I do not know.  That fixture was specified by the interior designer. Her firm, however, is not part of the Houzz community.

Where are they from or brand name? Looking for something like this for Florida home.

A: Those were chosen by the interior designer, so I am afraid we do not have that info.

I love the wall treatment in the Eastover home that is is in the hallway,,,can you share how this was done?  Your work is so amazing - I wish you were in my area!

A: Try searching "vertical slat wall panels dyi"
There are many varieties - interior, exterior, natural wood, painted, etc.

What kind of wood is used on the ceiling of the porch and how wide are the planks? Thanks!

A: They are not.  We wanted a clear view, so the screen panels are very large and not removable.

What dimensions are the cabinets? I’d especially like to know the depth. Thank you!

A: We agree these cabinets worked out well.  Height of cabinets is 96" /8'-0" and depth is 18".

Love the white colors. Can you please tell me the wall and kitchen cabinets color?

A: I am afraid we do not have the colors.  The interior designer that consulted on this project has retired.
