Don't be fooled by there fake reviews. Do a little research you will find they game Yelp and all the other social media. Amber Flooring cuts corners and has lousy customer service. If I could give them a zero I would do it. My contractor selected these guys as one of his subs to do a major remodel to our home. The job consisted of adding some new wood floors and refinishing some existing 80 year old parquet floors to match. The new floors were simply "meh." They left a lot of exposed nails and they had to return 2 times to fix them. My existing floors were ruined because (probably to cut costs) Amber did not set the nails ahead of time. They then rusted them all with the water based finish. Every nail is now visible and they refuse to accept blame or fix it claiming that my floors are now too thin. > > My contractor refused to weigh in directing me to hire (at my expense) an inspector from the wood flooring association. When inspectors arrived each agreed that Amber should have set the nails and also warned me that a water based finish might rust all the nails. He then said it was probably too late now since setting the nails will screw up the floor requiring a refinishing so we should just live with it or wait until the next time we want to refinish (in 10-15 years) and then choose a dark color. > > Amber flooring are hacks and do not deserve your trust with existing floors or money for new floors. Angel and Maggie did an outstanding installation job and Calvin was a great sales person. **★ — Christine Fliehman, May 2018** > When putting out requests for quotes for new flooring in my condo I was very clear that my space was small. Amber Flooring contacted me and set up a day and time for someone to come out to meet with me. On the scheduled day Amit came out and was on time but that's where the service ended. I took him up in our elevator and asked if he had had trouble finding the building. He said he hadn't but parking was terrible and wanted to know where workers parked. I explained I didn't know but he could talk to the building manager and would probably receive direction for vendors working in the building. We got to my condo and the conversation was very limited to basic questions and seemed to go from bad to worse. He asked me some questions which were hard to answer because I didn't know about flooring or the process and was counting on him to give me direction. He said something about the cost would be higher or lower depending on how they put the flooring down. I guess he thought I understood what he was saying, which I didn't, and didn't bother to explain the difference until I told him I had no idea what he was talking about. He gave an abbreviated explanation and proceeded to measure the space. What was immediately obvious to me was he didn't bring any samples of flooring - nothing that would show me different levels of quality, coloring, etc., and offered no information what-so-ever about his company, what services they provided, how they went about laying the flooring, moving furniture, etc.. It appeared he wasn't at all happy about being at my condo. I tried to ask questions and carry on a conversation with him but he was almost curt to me, almost as if he preferred I just wouldn't speak to him. After measuring and writing a few things on a clip board, I asked him to give me an estimate, that I of course wouldn't hold him too, but needed a ballpark figure as to what I was looking at for materials and labor. He said it would be about $8,000-$10,000 for 473 sq. ft. I expressed that I thought this was a bit high - no comment from him. However, how would I know what the cost might be since he hadn't brought any samples for me gauge what materials/pricing would be or have any kind of dialog with me so that I would become more informed and understand what I was asking for. He said he would send me a written quote via email spelling everything out. Two and a half weeks later and I have heard nothing - can't say I'm surprised. I also asked him for a business card so I could get in touch with him if I had further questions. He told me he didn't have any cards with him and all his contact information would be on the quote he would send me - the quote I've never received. If Amber Flooring is using this guy to represent them and promote their company they might want to reevaluate their process. This whole scenario took place in about fifteen minutes - this guy was in and out.
