> Wonderful customer service, great design guidance, a great experience overall! Sam and team really know how to work with the nuances and spaces in older homes, and did a great job of coming up with creative solutions.

> We worked with Samantha and the rest of the Metamorphosis team on our basement remodel. We couldn't have been more pleased with the results! Samantha communicates well. During the bidding process she pointed out details of our project that were overlooked by other contractors. The craftsmanship and care taken by the team was extraordinary! The project was completed in a very timely manner and we love our new space!

- [Uptown Eco Attic and Porch Overhaul](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/uptown-eco-attic-and-porch-overhaul-pj-vj~100010)
 - Location: Minneapolis, MN
 - Photos: 17
 - Description: The clients always dreamed of converting their home’s attic into a master suite with a deck overlooking the Minneapolis skyline. The remodel exceeded the client’s expectations, converting an attic with bowed beams and uneven floors into a third-floor getaway, complete with a walk-in closet, Dutch elm flooring, custom cabinetry, extra storage space and a bathroom utilizing low-flow fixtures. By restoring the original windows, the attic was able to retain some of the space’s turn of the century ch…
- [Bryn Mawr Basement](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/bryn-mawr-basement-pj-vj~174460)
 - Location: Minneapolis, MN
 - Photos: 9
 - Description: This Bryn Mawr basement, built circa late 1930’s, needed a little updating. Finished in exposed pine, the homeowners wanted to brighten up the space and make it more contemporary. The basement functioned as a mudroom and living space, so we had to be creative with the existing design. Not only did we work around the existing duct work, but we also added a ¾ bath and a ½ finished laundry room. We wanted to complement the existing finishes, but also update the design. Our finished product included…
- [High-Traffic Bathroom](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/high-traffic-bathroom-pj-vj~436840)
 - Location: Minneapolis, MN
 - Photos: 3
 - Description: A hardworking bathroom within a foursquare house in Minneapolis' CARAG neighborhood was in need of a refresh. Not only was it the main bathroom used by the family, but it also served as the primary bathroom for frequent visitors to the home. The bathroom was updated with a classic, fresh look. A marble, hex mosaic tile floor was paired with a mocha-stained vanity fixture to give the space a timeless aesthetic.
- [Nokomis Kitchen Remodel](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/nokomis-kitchen-remodel-pj-vj~98431)
 - Location: Minneapolis, MN
 - Photos: 10
 - Description: Almost all of this traditional Nokomis foursquare has been lovingly restored by its current owners - everything but the kitchen. When it came to the kitchen, they opted for professional help. Our main objective was to open up the space to facilitate their frequent entertaining. During the design process, it became obvious that all of the appliances would be moved around to create opportunities to add storage, efficiency, and historically appropriate details. The combination of rich cherry cabine…
- [Enviable Porch Project](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/enviable-porch-project-pj-vj~436824)
 - Location: Minneapolis, MN
 - Photos: 4
 - Description: A one-and-a-half story home in Minneapolis' Hale neighborhood got a whole lot bigger when we helped these clients add on a screened-in porch. We wanted to keep the porch minimal from a cost and maintenance standpoint, so we used Trex decking for the flooring. The clients now have a screened-in porch where they can enjoy the Minnesota weather without being bothered by the unofficial Minnesota state bird (mosquitos)!
- [Southwest Minneapolis Bathroom](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/southwest-minneapolis-bathroom-pj-vj~221434)
 - Location: Minneapolis, MN
 - Photos: 7
 - Description: This upstairs 3/4 bathroom in Minneapolis' Kenny neighborhood needed to be gutted and reworked. We redesigned the bathroom's space plan, adding in a corner shower that was a major space-saver, as well as a wood look tile for the flooring, fixtures from Restoration Hardware, and an American Standard sink.
- [Uptown Bathroom](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/uptown-bathroom-pj-vj~350826)
 - Location: Minneapolis, MN

 - Description: This small master bathroom in the Standish-Ericsson neighborhood of Minneapolis underwent a massive remodel. Little details helped transform the space, including a new skylight, a custom glass tile mosaic strip in the shower (which the clients designed themselves), and elegant fixtures. The overall effect is a classic, modern bathroom with a timeless style.

 - Location: Maplewood, MN, MN

- [Minneapolis Nokomis Bathroom](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/minneapolis-nokomis-bathroom-pj-vj~139686)
 - Location: Minneapolis, MN
 - Photos: 5
 - Description: This gorgeous Tudor had undergone a massive addition in the early '70's, and nowhere showed it as much as the upper level bathroom- 1" "pool deck" floor tiles, dark stained cabinets, cultured marble tops, and that "here for no reason" soffit over the vanity. The client had big dreams for the space, which wouldn't require much demo. By working with the existing layout, we were able to save quite a bit. Some light plumbing, electrical, sheet rock, tiling, and painting totally transformed the space…

 - Location: Minneapolis, MN
 - Photos: 10
 - Description: This second floor bathroom remodel entirely transformed the old, dilapidated bathroom into a fresh new space. A tiled walk-in shower and a custom vanity were added, and the existing clawfoot tub was reused and refinished. Trim details, white hex tile, and wainscoting helped maintain the integrity and character of the original 1909 home. Green features: Reuse of existing vintage bathtub

By modifying structural and mechanical elements, we were able to adjust ceiling heights and define the spaces in a natural way. Custom cabinets were added, as well as Cambria-mimicking Carrara marble which is both beautiful AND easy to maintain. The timeless two-tone design was completed with the addition of a classic subway backsplash.

 - Photos: 13
 - Description: This family in Linden Hills revamped their home, adding a modern, urban farmhouse spin on its existing charm. For the front of the house, we helped rebuild a new, open-style porch. For the rest of the house, we helped add finishing touches to update the space, including remodeling the upstairs bathroom, trim work, and refreshing the kitchen with new doors, countertops, and a new backsplash.
- [Red Modern Uptown Bathroom](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/red-modern-uptown-bathroom-pj-vj~2556464)
 - Location: Minneapolis, MN
 - Photos: 6
 - Description: The owners of this 1920s condo in Minneapolis' Lowry Hills East neighborhood love color! For this remodel, a white and gray bathroom was infused with unexpected splashes of red and gold hues. We wanted to design a room that was consistent with the architectural style of the building, yet was also modern. The result is a stunning red vanity with sleek fixtures and hip flair.

## Community Q&A

**Q: what is the wall color paint?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Wall color

A: Hello! Thanks for asking. This project is from 8 yrs ago, and our records indicate that the client provided the paint. I'm sorry, I can't tell you what brand, but the wall color is Prelude, and the trim is Frost.

**Q: What are the measurements of this bathroom?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi Amanda,

The bathroom is about 10' wide by 9' deep. The sloping ceiling restricted the usable width to about 8'. The area made it a perfect spot for this clawfoot tub!

**Q: Would you share the Wall Color - Nice Work!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thanks! The color was "Prelude", which I believe is a Behr color. But we would've color matched to Sherwin Williams.

**Q: Beautiful couch! Where is it from? Dimensions?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thanks for your interest! This was the client's purchase, about 4 years ago, but the dimensions are about 120"x 72". I think it was from Hom Furniture.

**Q: Who was the custom maker of this vanity? I'm looking for something exa** *(in Photo Questions)*

.

A: Hey, Jennifer. Believe it or not, that's a "box" cabinet, one that's prefabricated. The homeowner procured this piece herself, but I believe it was ordered from Mid-Continent Cabinetry. They have an attractive vanity cabinet program. The countertop is custom, and was measured for once the cabinet was set.
Good luck with your project!

**Q: Is that shelf unit built in or is it an insert and if so, from where?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: We created a custom built-in to serve as the client's linen cabinet. We had the empty wall space, so figured, why not? It did require a small build-out into the adjacent room, but the client was happy to do so.
