> Great design eye and ability to make your ideas a reality. Knows Austin well and what works based on the landscape. The crew does great, timely, and professional work! Still, call on her today for maintenance and continues to surpass expectations.

**★★★★★ — Marianne Stout, Feb. 2017**

> B. does beautiful work and has great ideas! Many people driving by have stopped us and told us how good our yard looks.

**★★★★★ — Tyler Todd, Feb. 2017**

> We worked with B. Jane on the exterior landscaping and drainage for our house remodel in central Austin. B. is a fantastic collaborator who manages to merge creative skills and passion with a disciplined approach to installation and budgeting. We're thrilled with the landscaping results and highly recommend B. for any projects under consideration. She's great!

> Really interesting, friendly lady. Super creative designs. Sadly, not dependable. She bailed on us. And did so right before Spring when there is a several month long waiting list for good landscape designers.
>
> Here is what happened...We took a week and a half to look over an email she sent after our consultation. We asked for a phone follow up, but said we were still ready to go forward. She wrote back she said she was too busy to take our job and that she was having surgery.
>
> But the 'too busy' part didn't really seem legit though. When we had initially reached out, she said she could take our job. She even used an exclamation point in her yes. And if she did suddenly get way more busy than she was, she could have reached out and let us know that we needed to hurry, or at least been in touch as soon as she knew she wouldn't be able to take our job--proactively telling your clients that you are suddenly stopping all work, for whatever reason, seems like the normal, professional thing to do.
>
> Because she bailed on us after we wasted a lot of time with her that we should have been using to find another landscape architect (we were three months in), we asked for our consultation fee back. It is a super tiny amount of money in comparison to what we were going to spend on this job (She has a 30k project minimum which is not listed on her website, fyi), but given the spot she left us in, we felt like it was a professional courtesy she should extend--the actual least she could do.
>
> But she refused.
>
> B. clearly picks and chooses her projects. She can do this because she is so talented. She deserves top dollar. But she sent an email after I told her how surprised and disappointed I was that she was backing out that made some off-putting assumptions. I could be off base but the vibe I got was that we basically paid $150 for her to come out and judge us. Maybe it was because our house isn't as new or humongous as the houses in these pics. Who knows. All I know is that it felt very much like we paid good money to be declared not worthy. Which leads me to my takeaway from the whole experience...
>
> B. is cool and her work is cool. But sadly, maybe too cool.
>
> Tips for other potential clients: make sure she has time in her schedule for you and that she knows you can afford her. I wish we had been more clear about this. Ask her for a timeline. Also, be prepared to wait...each step seemed to take longer (3 weeks for consult...and that was in October; 1 1/2 weeks for follow up after that meeting) than it has with a subsequent landscape designer we have net with since. And definitely hire someone else if you'd like to have something transformed within a few months.

**Comment from B. Jane Gardens:**

> We're very sorry that the project didn't prove to be a good fit. We attempted to bring this to a successful resolution by helping the client find a firm better suited to their project. We provided a paid consultation service in the form of an on-site meeting, initial analysis and recommendations. This cost of this service is clearly outlined before we meet with clients.
>
> We dispute many of the statements in this review as well as the characterization of events. We treat all clients respectfully and always attempt to resolve problems amicably.
>
> We wish the client the best of luck with their project.

> Great designer, very comfortable and easy to work with while being extremely knowledgeable and budget conscious. Listens to you and comes up with beautiful plans you can actually afford -

**★★★★★ — juliemford, Feb. 2016**

> We hired B. Jane Gardens to provide us with a landscape design that we could complete on our own. B. listened to our list of wants and budget, and gave us a design that looked wonderful. The landscape design fit our budget, and was designed so we could do things incrementally (with our busy schedule), and was something that did not require a professional to do the whole thing. We are extremely pleased and highly recommend B.

**★★★★★ — jhwimberley, March 2015**

> We hired B of B Jane Gardens because she had a great portfolio of past projects that emphasized a strong sense of composition and design. Once the project started, B's team showed up when they said they would and got busy. B has a great gut feel for hardscape and mixed traditional dry-stack rock patterns with interesting, locally-found rocks in a way that I have not seen elsewhere - we have gotten lots of positive feedback on this in particular from people who visit our house. B was often on-site checking on her guys, and she made sure we had a go-to person there the entire time. As soon as we can, we plan to have B create a new landscape for the other side of our house.

**★★★★★ — adamvoorhes, March 2015**

> My wife and I have been amazed with everything B has done for our yard. We wanted something less typical for a high end landscape, a yard built around gardening with a 'mid-century farmhouse' twist. B planned out a place for us to sit and drink coffee by the fountain (that can double as a beer ice chest for parties, and provides water for the cardinals and bluejays), a beautiful shaded lawn for our dogs and backyard games, a chicken run, garden beds for homegrown tomatoes that taps into rainwater collection, composting, and a greenhouse. Everything flows, and highlights keys parts of the yard with strong geometry. It's the most beautiful part of our home and I don't trust anyone but B to help us with any future projects.

**★★★★★ — Jilynn Davis, Feb. 2014**

> I have been working with B Jane for more than 6months. The ongoing projects at my home are exciting to watch unfold. Stone walls, terracing. plantings, new sidewalks and patios are all part of the project. She is currently working with my architect to have her work blend perfectly with my new remodeling and additions. When another skill is needed she promptly brings in the best, from electricians to plumbers to steel craftsmen. Next on the list are new steel entry doors with coordinating steel entry gates.
> With B Janes excellent design concepts and planning skills, my landscape is being transformed. Her work crew are professional and dedicated to complete all their work to the upmost of their capabilities. My work with B Jane is ongoing. I am looking forward to the reward of relaxing at home and sharing her skills with all who come to visit.

**★★★★★ — ashleydupree, Feb. 2014**

> B. Jane Gardens is creative with design and aggressively manages a budget within what is requested by Estates owners. She knows the right direction to guide and design natives and a zero landscape.
> B. Jane manages all maintenance with professional staff and over the top care.
> WE love B. Jane Gardens and she has made the most difficult clients happy!!!

**★★★★★ — Noel Roberts, Feb. 2014**

> B. is absolutely terrific! Being completely horticulturally challenged, she worked with me to turn my Westlake jungle into a way cool garden spot. She has vision and knowledge and I trust her judgment completely. I can't wait to start on the next round of projects!

**★★★★★ — sweetpea78746, Jan. 2014**

> Wonderful experience resulting in a lovely, ecologically smart landscape with nothing but compliments from all neighbors and friends! B Jane Gardens is knowledgeable, professional, dependable and a pleasure to work with.
