He implied that he had another job in Malibu. > So there I am looking again for a landscaper. > I had found Ted on the Houzz site. **★★★★★ — amysweetman, Feb. 2014** > The Project > I recently bought a beautiful large property that was in desperate need of landscaping-- The entire yard was dirt and weeds, and it has its problem of being on a relatively busy street. Ted was referred to me from one of the landscapers that I requested an estimate from. He said he would love to do the work, but he knew of an landscape designer that "Thought out of the Box." and that he would probably be able to turn my run down land into a work of art. I met Ted and within a few weeks he had come up with a design for every area of the property which included a beautiful soccer field for my sons, a basketball court that was able to keep trees worked into the border of the design, and a planter/ fire pit outdoor dining area that leads to stone steps down to the pool area that he has lined with palm trees. However his true magnificence has revealed itself in the side yard. It is a large craftsman house with stone pillars and he designed an amazing tree well with a waterfall that flows into a rock stream that runs through an amazing garden of spectacular plants. In my neighborhood it is absolutely one of a kind and I have people stop by to take pictures regularly and his work has even inspired neighbors to try to copy his style. I have referred Ted to admirers more times than I can count. > > > Ted's strengths > Ted has always been available for everything that I need, he is just a phone call away. Along with being available, his other strengths are of course his amazing creativity- for example placing a tree in just the right place so that the reflection can be seen in the water at just the right angle. Each area of the various yards have their own feel so the property feels like it has a number of different "rooms" for activities. Additionally, I have specified my personal desires and he has tried to incorporate all of my personal needs by taking me shopping with him to get my feed back at every turn. Finally, what I really like about Ted is that he can work well with others, but he will not back down from his vision. Since this has been a large project, we have worked with a few different companies for installing various items. One one occasion, both Ted and I felt strongly that we wanted something that the contracted worker was against because it was something that he had never done before, but Ted stood his ground and patiently re-stated our needs over and over and drew plans for making it work and yes in the end we got exactly what we desired. I think someone else may have either turned the disagreement into a bad ending or backed down. > > I cannot say enough good things about Ted. Our contractor recommended Ted Weiant. It was the best investment we could have made, he transformed our property. He is an amazing landscape designer and a true artist. Our landscape is mostly drought tolerant but looks incredibly lush. Ted has unique ideas and uses interesting plant specimens. He pays special attention to detail and is incredibly easy to work with. It has been allowed to grow as a low shrub. While it looks like it has blue highlights, it is actually the result of a light frost on the tips that occurred during the winter season and the quality of the light when the photo was taken.
