We were more than disappointed by what seemed to be either sloppy or deceptive business practices and unprofessional conduct. She was unable to substantiate her billing. She charged us for a 6 hour meeting that was only 2 hours. And....She does NOT provide an explanation for her bills. Seemed like a simple process. Basically we needed as-built house plans and the addition of about 2000sq ft of new space. > We met Lucynda at our house. She told us she graduated from architect school at Clemson. She seemed to be understanding of our project and gave initial estimate of $2500 for as-built plans in 6 weeks. > She charges $175/hr which we new was high but were willing to pay a bit more for a quick/simple project. She portrayed herself as more than qualified. > We signed her contract and that’s when the issues started. > Took 4 months to get as builts at twice initial price. Decided to fire her. Was then told as builts were incomplete and needed $2000 more to correct. 6 mos and $7000 later finally have as builts only. Not licensed. Worst architect we have ever worked with. We were looking to do a major kitchen/dining room remodel and were open to touching other areas of the house if needed. We had already brought in 2 designers who gave us very lackluster plans that amounted to new cabinets and removing part of a wall. Thankfully we found Lucynda who gave us not 1, but 2 amazing plans to choose from that completely re-imagined the kitchen area as well as our laundry, closets, and master bath area. Built in the 1920's, our cherished Cape Cod had become too small and not functional for our family of 6. From her first meeting, she paid attention to details that we hoped to attain. Lucynda made our wishes possible, and then some! We have 2 boys and 2 girls, ranging from 5 years to 13 years. She designed private wings to separate boys from girls and created many gathering spaces to appeal to each person in our home. Our additions transition seamlessly with the older parts of our home. She is a true gem, especially with older homes!
