**★★★★★ — Marsha and Ludwig Alban, Sept. 2019**

> It is our pleasure to write a review for Debra Cedeno , an architect with great vision. She diligently worked on the plans and supervision for the building/renovation of our guest house. Because space was so limited we asked Debra to maximize every inch. She was extremely creative in doing so, transforming our dark, low ceiling house into a "jewel" filled with light and high ceilings, all without changing the roof line. She was very thorough, especially at the final walk through, making sure everything was done as designed. Debra takes great pride in her work and incorporated our wish list into the design. Debra was a true find and we are grateful we found her!

**Comment from Architecture + Indigo, LLC:**

> Marsha & Albie,
> Thank you for the lovely review. I really appreciate it. It was a pleasure to work with you as well. Your trust in our vision allowed this Guest House to become a beautifully appointed sun-filled space, which will now be enjoyed for generations. I am proud of this design and how the space was transformed and I cannot wait to share images of the house! Thanks again.
> Best Regards, Debra

**★★★★★ — Doug Leavens, Sept. 2017**

> Debra Cedeno is the ultimate professional for taking on an ambitious renovation project, with a modest budget and dreams of an elegant “not-so-big” year-round house. It was our good fortune that after a careful search and a long discussion, my wife and I selected her as the architect to renovate our small (1144 sq. ft.) seasonal house built in 1972 on Martha’s Vineyard. The primary tasks were to add a full bathroom to the master bedroom and modernize the kitchen, open access to the outside with a wrap-around deck, add HVAC to provide year-around comfort, and bring in abundant light. She achieved all of this to perfection.
> Debra paid great attention to space utilization, alignment of traffic flow and sight lines to make a small house feel much larger and spacious. This required extensive structural redesign and introduction of two gables, adding a totally new contemporary look to what had been a traditional ranch. Her creative use of abundant windows and doors to bring the sun and out-of-doors into the kitchen and living room in this semi-rural area was brilliant – her design opened-up the house in a totally new way.
> Debra never ran out of clever ideas to problem solve a sticky issue, such as how to run the dryer vent the shortest distance, and turning some extra space in the master bath into a storage space for towels, or how to make the house HERS compliant. Fortunately, Debra also recommended a local builder who was equally a perfectionist and fully capable of turning her design into a masterful reality.
> Each step of the way, Debra was on top of what needed to be done. She worked closely with the sub-contractors as needed, addressing questions as they arose to keep the work progressing. Importantly, Debra had a very positive relationship with the local building inspector and could move things along as needed. Since I was acting as the general contractor, she made great efforts to keep me informed of the progress as we live out of state and I was frequently not on site. Debra’s creativity and expertise were evident throughout the project; she was flexible when necessary and made changes to accommodate to our needs. Above all, she ensured that we, her clients, were satisfied and that the renovations were finished on time and within our budget. Without hesitation, I would recommend Debra Cedeno as an architect.

**Comment from Architecture + Indigo, LLC:**

> Doug, Thank you! I really appreciate your kind words and for the thought and time you put into your review. There is always something to learn/ gain from every project. The construction format was a little different, but in the end the great teamwork, I believe, is what made the difference to the success of the project. Congratulations!
> Best Regards, Debra

**★★★★★ — Danielle Foullon, Sept. 2017**

> We hired Architecture + Indigo to explore a modern renovation of our New Hampshire home that ended up with a reconfiguration of our kitchen, master bedroom and bath, entrance, powder room and laundry. It was a pleasure working with Debra Cedeno, who found a design concept that was contemporary yet fit in with our farmhouse aesthetic and worked within our budget. She worked tirelessly with the contractor and structural engineer to hammer out the details that would make us happy and meet our needs. We found Ms. Cedeno to be a most conscientious and dedicated architect, who really knows her stuff, and put us, as homeowners, at ease with her confidence and humor. I would highly recommend her to anyone, especially if you are looking for someone who has an amazing eye for detail and design.

**Comment from Architecture + Indigo, LLC:**

**★★★★★ — chipcoblyn, April 2017**

> Debra Cedeno is a powerhouse. The level of detail and volume of work emanating from her small office is astounding. We knew we were in good hands when Debra's very first preliminary sketch captured our thoughts. The challenge was to create a small dwelling for two that physically connected to an existing larger house without looking out of place. Navigating arcane town bylaws, and—count them—three different building inspectors was an exercise in patience and ingenuity, but Debra was game and she prevailed. The resulting 1000 sf home is a sublime open space we call the Sanctuary. Designed within the New England vernacular, but with a definitively modern sensibility, the house is perfectly suited for a couple who enjoys cooking and entertaining. Debra gave what is basically a t-shaped structure, a soul—with soaring cathedral ceilings, and four perfectly balanced dormers, that play the ever changing Vineyard light like a kinetic symphony. Multiple windows open up the walls. As you move through the space there is always a view calling your eye outdoors. The calm simplicity of the space is illusory once you dive into the details. You notice the perfect proportions of the windows, the wide open ceilings uncluttered by collar ties—a bit of architectural sorcery thanks to Debra's deep understanding of structure wrought from her experiences as a carpenter and later as an architectural project manager. Your eyes are drawn upward to see the razor sharp crease formed by the two halves of the ceiling. The wing walls of the dormers spring down to two bump outs, which in turn form light filled niches—one destined to be the resting spot for an Eames lounge and ottoman. Finally, the master suite is a compact space that feels simultaneously cozy and expansive. From the bed, one looks up and out through a square window placed high on the gable end that pulls in the night sky. The house is a sanctuary in every sense of the word. Architecture + Indigo should be on anyone's shortlist when building or renovating a house that will function as a cherished forever home.

**★★★★★ — Rebecca Zuurbier, March 2017**

> Our 1999 Upper Valley "post and beam" needed re-configuring and updating -within a budget. Ms. Cedeno provides personal involvement that is both meticulous and creative. She saved us from costly errors and found areas for cost savings both in design and negotiation with the contractor. I also liked her clarity and practicality.

**Comment from Architecture + Indigo, LLC:**

> Rebecca, Thank you for your kind words. It was a pleasure to work with you. I believe that with your thoughtful and efficient decision making, that we crafted the best solution for you and your family and your beautiful home. Regards - Debra

> I was the electrical contractor on a project with Architecture + Indigo, LLC throughout July and August 2016.
> Working with other professionals can be problematic in the construction industry. Not so with Debra. Debra is easy to work with, was quick to respond to and deal with any issues I had.
> It was great to work with Debra and I look forward to working together again in the future.
> John David Miller - Electrician

**Comment from Architecture + Indigo, LLC:**

> Dave, It was great to work with you too and thanks for your feedback. I always appreciate when GC/ Subs ask questions - whether it is a simple clarification or to resolve an issue quickly and efficiently. I look forward to working with you in the future as well.
> Regards, - Debra

**★★★★★ — John Ross, March 2017**

> Debra was the architect that spearheaded the design of my dream vacation house, and future retirement house. She was fantastic to work with, and helped me achieve the reality of that dream house. She is an extremely hands-on architect, and she took me through the design phase of this project, with her location in Massachusetts and my location in Switzerland. We probably had 100+ FaceTime calls to discuss through the design iteration process. She also helped me manage through the construction phase given my far proximity. She completely exceeded my expectations, and her attention to detail was second to none. The final result of this is a truly unique modern farmhouse that is absolutely beautiful. I would recommend Debra to anyone, and especially over an architecture firm with a large staff --- it was great to have the 1:1 attention through the process. She was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

**Comment from Architecture + Indigo, LLC:**

> John - Thank you very much for your thoughtful and kind words. Your appreciation of the design and other important aspects of the process, means a great deal to me. You are a wonderful client and I am happy to have been an integral part of realizing your dream. Regards - Debra

**★★★★★ — Rockwell Masonry, Inc., July 2014**

> Debra was amazing to work with and one of the best at collaborating a large team of contractors to work together on a challenging project. She is very well respected in the industry and her clients have nothing but great things to say about her professionalism and attention to detail.

**Comment from Architecture + Indigo, LLC:**

> Greg - Thank you for your wonderful feedback. The stonework on this project was such an important and integral part of the design and it was executed beautifully. It was a pleasure working with you and your professional team of craftsman. Regards - Debra

A: Thanks for the inquiry. The Scullery is a special room in the house and we wanted a very special fixture to match the space and function. It is the "Noto Pendant" by Studio Joseph Watts. They make beautiful handcrafted fixtures, where there are a few options for finishes.

This is the most beautiful house ever. The combination of stone and wood elements, the light and flow of the house are all set into the landscape flawlessly. This is a work of art and I am captivated by the genius of your work. I first saw this house in a feature article in New England Home Magazine.

A: First - thank you very much for your thoughtful feedback. Our team had a wonderful time designing and building this home. The Floors are quarter-sawn white oak, the island counter top is Absolute Black granite and all of the millwork and windows/ doors are mahogany.
