Love the base and want to use whiskey bottle as domed shade instead of cut rent glass domed shade that comes with base.

A: Yes. The glass dome sits atop of the base and can be removed.

I am planning to hang them over kitchen island

A: It doesn't come that way, but instead of the 15ft of wire and plug, we can substitute 3ft of wire and a solid copper ceiling canopy that you can mount to a junction box. You will just need to mention it in the "notes" section when checking out. Thanks.
