Blaine Tinsdale, President, Fine Line Construction, is a solid professional who expertly led us through a bathroom renovation project involving two bathrooms at our mountain home in Rappahannock County. The project involved demolishing the current bathrooms (taking them down to the wall studs and floorboards) and rebuilding with new materials. In the main bathroom, Fine Line built a new walk-in tiled shower, installed floor tile, rebuilt the walls, added a vent fan, installed new lighting, installed all hardware, reinstalled an existing vanity, installed a new toilet, and painted. In the smaller bathroom, Fine Line Construction built a custom wall-to-wall vanity, tiled the floor, rebuilt the walls, installed new lighting, installed all hardware, and installed a new toilet. Fine Line's work completely transformed the dated, drab bathrooms into modern, beautiful spaces. Fine Line steered us through material selection, offering expert advice when we went off course. Blaine recommended ways to further enhance the look of the new bathrooms without driving cost. One simple example, using marble tops matched to existing vanity marble to carry the look from the vanity to the shower. Beautiful! In the smaller bathroom, Blaine recommended a wall-to-wall vanity, which differed from our initial approach. The vanity Blaine built truly enhanced the space and the wall-to-wall approach was a perfect solution. In addition to being thrilled with the technical and aesthetic aspects of the project, we found Fine Line to be sensitive to cost, including when it came to addressing an unknown site condition relating to compromised floor joists. Fine Line works with its own crew, with Blaine taking on a prominent day-to-day role. From a schedule standpoint, we were satisfied with Fine Line's efforts. As our home is located at 1200 feet and the work was performed over the winter months, Blaine and his team had to deal with snow on the mountain and a downed tree across the road -- not one word of complaint or concern. This gave us a clean slate. Blaine spent time studying the layout and determining the best location for lights etc. He read and reread all of the installation instructions so that there were no surprises. They cleaned up all of their "messes" on a daily basis so that kept our dust to a minimum. (Both of us have allergies.). I knew exactly when to expect them to arrive (both to start the project and his daily work.). The kitchen really works for me and I am very pleased that we chose Fine Line Construction to do the project. We discussed the project daily to make sure that both of us had the same expectations for that day and that week. Blaine is conscientious and is a hard worker. Once we decided to finally remodel our master bathroom we contacted several contractors for estimates. Most gave an estimate that was out of our budget and seemed inflexible. Fine Line Contraction worked with us to come up with a plan within our budget and kept us informed every step of the way during the project. To redesign a master bathroom in an older house one needs to hire an experienced contractor who can deal with uneven floors and uneven walls. Fine Line Construction was up to the task. The project did take a little longer than anticipated but their attention to detail was exceptional. All the tile was laid perfectly. The glass door on the shower was hung perfectly. They added a custom-made shelf that provided needed storage space. Furthermore they did not skimp on materials. Just because we were trying to stay within a budget, all the fixtures and tiles were of high quality.
