It is full bed depth thickness (usually 1-1/2” to 2” thick) laid in a mud bed of mortar. **Q: Stairs** *(in Photo Questions)* What did you use on the stairs - are they painted or stained? A: Thanks for the question! The stair treads are white oak with a semi-transparent black stain; and, of course the risers are painted. **Q: What colour are the walls?
