> If you are looking to get a job done the right way the first time, call Halliday Construction! We have used them several times over the past 5 years. Some projects have been big (complete kitchen remodel, window replacements) and some have been on the smaller side (replacing doors). No matter the size of the workload, each member of the Halliday Team was extremely professional, respectful and knowledgeable. When making recommendations for materials, Halliday made sure we had options that were budget conscious without compromising quality. They were always on time and left the worksite clean daily. I would use them again and recommend them in a heartbeat!

> I had high hopes for this firm, which was recommended to me by friends. Unfortunately the initial estimate was significantly too low on kitchen cabinet installation and moving gas/water for appliances, and their communication skills regarding inspections, when work would occur and how much it would really cost never came together until the final weeks, after my multiple requests over several months of delays.

> Their actual work on my just-acquired house was fine, but they were lapped by independent projects I hired other tradespeople to do: upgrading electrical service, installing new floors and fascia boards, structural repairs, etc. For the most significant project, the kitchen renovation, they would not work directly with my kitchen designer, which resulted in escalation of costs, a three-month delay, and repeated need/requests for the duplicate information/spec sheets on new appliance and fixtures already on-site.

> Oddly, their plumbing subcontractor added my laundry pipes inside the northern-facing wall despite there being space for them to be more accessible and outside the wall. Despite insulation, the pipes froze, so I had to pay plumbers to move the intake pipes outside the wall. The drain pipe could not be similarly moved without removing most of the wall, so I cut a big hole in the wall (hidden behind the stacked washer and dryer) so that warm room air would minimize the chance of freezing  Four winters later, I have not had these pipes freeze again.

> As with all big jobs, there was a punch list, primarily concerning the new exhaust hood that Halliday installed. Water leaked from my roof through the hood and onto my stove for several months, but finally they applied some tar that stopped the leak. In the course of having the exhaust hood checked out after the leaks, I learned that it was not installed correctly for maintenance access or at the correct height for optimum performance, as per the installation manual, so I eventually hired someone else to fix/move it and did the finish work myself. I was impressed that two years later Halliday Construction reimbursed me for this cost.
