**Q: kitchen backsplash** *(in Polls)*

So should I tile over the cabinet on the left side? Planning on bringing it around on the wall on the right, and I have seen some pics showing some other people that have done it.

A: You couldn't tile that side since the door would not open on the upper cabinet.

We are meeting with a builder later this week to discuss potentially building our next house.  I was hoping to get good questions to ask the builder from the Houzz comunity who have built their homes or builders to help my family feel better about our decision.

How do I cut out a perfect 3 ft. Wide circle out of a tile floor I'm installing . It's for a fancy tile center peice.

Can Cedar Shingles be painted? They are from 1960's! Very dark and ugly. If yes-would it be better to use a dark or light color-in terms of durability - Our weather is 4 seasons Rain Snow Sun Wind etc. also I have awful asthma-is there a paint that would be better in terms of smell, Vapors? Should I expect smells to enter my home? A professional will be doing the work. Thank you

**Q: Getting rid of bushes** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have one giant dead bush and two on either side of it that are still alive in a very awkward spot in my yard. I just want to get rid of them! They are a sight for sore eyes! I have to do this within a strict budget so hiring someone is not an option. I figured I would cut them at the base. But how can I stop the roots from growing?
