**★★★★★ — Designed By RL, June 2014**

> Chris is an excellent contractor. I met him and his partner Guy on a project that we did for a client. The project consisted of two bathrooms that were completely gutted and redesigned. From the start, I was impressed by Chris' enthusiasm for the project and for the respect that he had for the design and product selections which were done before they came on board. It was evident that their goal was to create the design that had been envisioned.
>
> I had an opportunity to observe the work that they did. They were there on time. They were mindful of the homeowners' pets and also ensured that they left the jobsite clean. They kept the client updated on what they were doing and helped to reassure the client during times of uncertainty. I am also very appreciative that when there was a design question, that they stopped and contacted me to discuss and clarify the design.
>
> Chris is meticulous in his work. He enjoys the challenge of working on complicated designs. He combines his artistry with his understanding of construction to execute the design. This was evident on the powder room where he did all the tile work.
>
> I enjoyed the collaboration and look forward to more projects together.

  - Description: This kitchen used to be stuck in the 90's with white washed cabinets and mauve tiles. The old kitchen was not an enjoyable place to work in. Although there were a lot of cabinets, neither the cabinet layout nor the appliance placement lent itself to ease of use nor to be functional. The soffit in the back wall area also made the kitchen feel less open. Existing white appliances had to be integrated into the redesign. The new kitchen feels airy and open with white perimeter cabinets and with a da…

  - Description: If this bathroom could speak, it would've begged it's owner to get it out of time warp! It was stuck in the late 80's, early 90's with mauve, 3"x3"tiles , white washed oak cabinets and with carpet underfoot. It has finally been given a new lease on life! It boasts easy to maintain porcelain tiles, white cabinetry, granite countertop and LED canned lights. The space is calming with a neutral color palette that will allow it's owner to introduce a wide range of color accents. Every space was used…

## Community Q&A

**Q: What is a tran shower** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Tran is the customers last name.

**Q: Need help with master bath. Quick!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are renovating our first home from top to bottom. We are having to pick paint colors this week. Our master bathroom is the only room I am having trouble envisioning. My husband is pretty set on a grey tile of some sort in the shower. I need help picking a paint color, and also, what tile to use on the floor and bathtub surround. We are planning to expand our family in the near future, so the easier the maintenance the better. As far as paint colors go, I tend to lean towards blues, blueish greens, and turquoises. The adjoining master bedroom is going to be a dark gray with hints of brown (BM Chelsea gray or BM Sparrow). Any suggestions would be very much appreciated! I am running out of time and do not have a vision for this bathroom!

A: Yes, definitely with different colors as you mentioned. I have done grays and blues and really like those. I think the 45 pattern on top with the inset border with square lay on bottom would be good as its a smaller shower. Could also do 12x24s standing instead of laying down.

**Q: How can I find vinyl sheeting that is nice looking?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I've recently been looking for easy to maintain vinyl flooring for two properties. One property is a small beach vacation rental that needs new flooring in the kitchen and bathroom. The other property is a townhouse that needs a new kitchen floor. I was dismayed to find that the cheery gold patterned 70s vinyl flooring in my beach condo is prettier than most of the vinyl I found at local flooring stores. The new vinyl designs I saw all mimic stone, tile or wood and all the designs I looked at featured colors with a murky cast of gray or brown. I brought the best samples the store had to offer to my condo and none of the samples with faux tile or stone looked good in the kitchen. They looked dirty and dingy. I'd be happy with a nice color and no pattern, certainly not stone or tile, for the small spaces. But I want a color that doesn't look dirty when it's clean! Does anyone know of a company producing vinyl in pretty colors without a variegated brown and gray cast?

A: Have you looked at Marmoleum? Maybe they have something you may like.
