**Q: Door and floor** *(in Photo Questions)*

**Q: Kitchen renovation** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Would appreciated any suggestions for our two kitchen layout options-specifically the microwave wall. Should we keep counter top space for a coffee hub area as in kitchen b, or do a built in with drawer storage? Any other ideas welcome. Thanks!

A: I agree with Main Line Kitchen Design.  If you move the fridge to the other space your range will be centered and the entire kitchen will look bigger.  You can easily place the microwave below the counter top either in the island or to the left or right of the range.  This would create that entire wall (with the range) end to end counter top.  You could put a 12 cabinet depth appliance garage at one end to hide coffee bar, toaster, etc.  Good Luck!

**Q: Painting Exterior Brick and Stone** *(in Paint)*

We really hate the random stone work on our 2005 ranch home. We are wanting to have the brick and the stone painted the same color.  I hoping this will make the stone "disappear" and give a cleaner look. What would you recommend? We just had the shrubs removed to get ready for new landscaping and now it really stands out!

A: Personally I'm a huge fan of painted brick.  I lived in a house that was painted Charcoal grey with bright white trim.  One of my absolute favorite looks is brick painted white with black trim.....classy and timeless.  I would paint everything, don't go with a natural color (like trying to match the stone) , go with the color you want your house.  Yes, agreed it is permanent, even repainting another coat or color is a bad idea. One painting (meaning primer and two coats of your color choice) of paint on brick still allows the stone to show texture.  If you start layering that up it looks cheap. Unless you have experience painting, you must hire a professional.
