> Job: Addition of a family room (design and build) and rebuild of our deck.
> Reasoning for 5 stars: Douglas is a great listener.  As an architect, Douglas listened to our ideas and gave us exactly what we wanted while providing us with expert advice on aspects we were unsure about.  Douglas is very efficient in everything he does from drawing to filing with the town.  What impressed me most about Douglas was his ability to project manage.  Supplies and subcontractors were all scheduled far in advance.  The project took place in the middle of the winter and there never seemed to be a day wasted.  Douglas’ demeanor makes him great to work with.  In March of 2020, it seemed as if the world was collapsing around us.  Douglas kept a level head and kept the project moving along making sure all inspections happened before towns began to close their offices.  Lastly, Douglas was upfront about the additional costs.  He explained the problems, showed us the issues and gave us choices when possible

> We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Douglas and his crew.  After an initial project (building 3 small charming bridges on our property), he rebuilt from scratch our 400 square foot attached screened in porch which had been found to be structurally unsound.  Our home was built in 1925 and we were very concerned about maintaining the traditional feel.  Despite the issues with our porch, we were very attached to it and spend nearly our entire summer out there.  Douglas worked with us every step of the way.  He found a source of old wood and created a magnificent porch.  He was always receptive to our suggestions.  All of the wood work was hand done and his crew were fantastic.  He estimated the project would take 6 to 8 weeks and the project was done in 7 weeks.  Some of the old wood was left over and they even crafted a beautiful copper top table out of it for us.  He was within budget with the exception of a few upgrades that we added (e.g. mid-construction, we chose to go with mahogany wood for the floors and for the screen frames).  Absolutely love our amazing porch.  Have since hired Douglas & crew for other projects (e.g. basement renovation) - all great experiences that exceeded our expectations.
