> We’ve worked with Studio Upwall on a wide range of projects. My spouse is a carpenter and I have a strong design sense, so on some of our projects, we needed our vision translated into permittable drawings. On others, we were stymied and looked to Greg and his team for original design ideas and problem solving around structural issues in our century-old DC rowhouse. In every case, we’ve found this to be a firm that listens to us about what we need and brings strong design and technical skills to the table. Although Greg’s aesthetic skews modern, and he does beautiful work in this style (as some of his other projects attest), he’s been equally able to work with our rustic/transitional space. He also has both the expertise and the team to address the tricky issues that come with retrofitting an old house to comply with contemporary building codes.
> Since we were doing the work on our house ourselves, it’s been incredibly valuable to be able to call for advice and trouble shooting help. Greg always visits our works in progress to see how his drawings are translating in the field, and helps us figure out the way forward. And he’s incredibly fun to work with, given his enthusiasm for our projects, his thoughtful efforts on our behalf, and his easy manner. We can’t recommend Studio Upwall highly enough!

> We hired Greg to do a remodel of the house, however as he started designing the remodel he realized it would take more than a remodel to get the house we dreamed of (it was almost a tear down/rebuild). His vision was beautiful, he spent hours looking at things from different angles in order to have the right design. We always get compliments on how beautiful the house is from strangers walking by. Greg was incredible to work with, the design was his baby but he understood we were the clients and ultimately we had the final decisions. If the opportunity arises we will work with him again.
