We, like the rest of the homeowners in our 11 unit subdivision, have dealt with countless problems from poor quality and bad subcontractors. We purchased our home in 2020 and construction began in the summer after lockdown. We eventually moved in in June of 2021 and begin noticing a myriad of workmanship issues that are still unresolved to this day. > > The most egregious of the problems is a basement that has flooded twice due to really shoddy landscape drainage and poor oversight from the project management team. The basement first flooded on Christmas day, approximately 6 months after move in. It took Bolte until the following JUNE to find the leak and assess the damage. Once the leak was identified, it took them until the following November to replace the damaged floor in the basement and repair the drywall. That's almost a full YEAR after the damage occurred. Then, to top it off, the basement flooded AGAIN, just 3 weeks after the repair date. It turns out that the landscape subcontractor never fixed the drainage issue outside, and Bolte's superintendent did not check the sub's work after the landscaper apparently fixed it. Now, it is June of 2022, two years after move-in and the basement still isn't to finished condition due to mold and delayed contractors. > > To top it off, our original 60 day punch still isn't completed - there is blue tape falling off all over the house. We have experienced countless unresolved workmanship issues around the house from bad painting, to damaged cabinets, to unsealed exterior walls in the garage. > > It should also be noted that we aren't the only house on the street that has flooded. No less than 3 properties in addition to ours also needed flood remediation. Bottom line: if you don't know how to build a basement, don't offer it. > > We paid over $1.3M for a house that has not been finished up to that standard. And Bolte's customer service communication has been spotty at best through the process. When we can connect, we can get quick results and then radio silence for months between contractors to finish the project. It is abysmal customer service. > > I would not purchase a home from Bolte again and I would advise would-be builders to look elsewhere. The combination of bad follow-through and untrustworthy subcontractors equals a product that is not worth the price we paid.
