However, there were several communication problems. One created a situation where my tenant had to take an emergency day off from work. The tilers just showed up at her home at 7:30am without warning ready to install tile. WORST OF ALL the installers left behind a filthy mess! The unit was freshly cleaned and painted. Although they put tile into ONLY ONE ROOM, they managed to make every floor in the ENTIRE unit dirty! Spilled food, footprints, etc. They somehow spread filth up onto the walls, in some places waist high, and again in rooms they hadn't worked in. They got dark grout all over the freshly painted baseboards, doors, door frames and walls in the room they tiled. They also made other areas dirty. Dirty tub, sink, mirror, floor, and even the toilet seat was dirty! The kitchen sink and the fridge door & handles - all dirty. > > They left a trash can full of heavy tile & carpet waste they were supposed to haul away. It was too heavy for me to move and I had to get help. They left 3 unopened boxes of tile out with the trash which are valuable and should have been left inside. Worst yet, They left the outside utility door unlocked! I've just replaced the hot water heater for $1,600 and it could easily have been stolen. > > I spoke with Brianna at the office several times, and each time she promised they'd go back and clean. I drove 40 minutes to the duplex 3 times, only to find they hadn't done a thing. Finally I gave up and cleaned it myself. It took me 2.5 full hours of scrubbing to clean up the disaster the irresponsible installers left for me! The grout didn't come off the baseboards so those will need to be repainted. Now I have to buy MORE paint and PAINT the baseboards all over again! I've never before seen grown men act like such filthy, disrespectful animals. Grossly unprofessional. > > In spite of the great tile work, I will never work with this company again. Sadly, even Brianna got mad when I said I felt disappointed in the experience. She actually hung up the phone when I asked her not to talk over me. The extreme stress and drama of working with this company caused my illness to flare. The workers broke for lunch and had to get some stuff to repair the foundation but didn't show back up for 3 hours I found that a bit odd. The rest of the days for the installation of the flooring went well. It took 4 days to complete the job vice the 3 I was originally quoted. They cancel and reschedule the tile for a week then the install then took over another almost two weeks to finish the job. Their follow up was abysmal. Needless to say I wouldn’t hire homesolutionz to change a lightbulb much less any project of significance. If you chose to do business with them you do so at your own peril. Don’t say you weren’t warned. Home Solutionz immediately answered my request from Angi's List and were able to send their consultant out a few days later. She was outstanding in understanding my tiling needs, was able to help match the existing grout and spent the extra time to find the matching tile from their vendor. She had me a quote that utilized the existing tile I had left over in my garage within in hours and had the installation appointment scheduled for the following Monday (QUICK!). > > My only knock was that the contractor they had scheduled was supposed to show up at my house at 10AM with a 2 hour window. At 12:30, no one had shown up and I called and was told someone would call me back with what was going on. 1:30 and still no call, so I messaged the design consultant and said whats going on? She called in and said the person that was supposed to call me will call me but she is tied up. 2:00PM the contractor finally shows up and apologizes that they ran late on their previous job. All would have been fine if the dispatch people at the office would have just called me and told me what was going on. Even after they showed up, no one called to COMMUNICATE what happened. It wasn't a HUGE deal since I was home all day, but it kept me from being able to leave the house to get my errands done. > > In any case the contractor was courteous and communicated exactly what they were going to do. They tried to be as clean and dust free as possible and did a FABULOUS job installing the tile, it looks seamless and beautiful. The contractor stayed until the job was completed, into the evening a little bit and made sure they cleaned up thoroughly. > > This would have been a 5 star review had the company dispatch office had better communication to me as to what was going on. Otherwise the consultant they sent out initially and the contract get 5+ stars from me. Being in the customer service arena, it is of the UTMOST importance to stay in contact with the customer as much as possible when issues like this arise and they had the chance 3 times to do so and did not. > > In any case I still recommend this company for their work and their, speed of scheduling my job as well as the actual work done. It would have been nice to have someone come out and do a quality assurance on the job to make sure it met their specifications and that I was happy with it (or even a phone call to ask how my service went and if I was happy).
