> The craftsmanship and attention to detail from this closet maker exceeded all my expectations, creating a beautifully organized and functional space that I absolutely love!

**★ — HU-575343753, June 2021**

> We hired Jude Nicastro to design our bedroom closets. Right from the get go he is not true to his word and his team of contractors are unprofessional and frankly disrespectful. After some dragging of feet by Jude, the job was finally going to begin. He originally said it would take 3 days which we agreed upon, but the day before start he stated it would take his team only 2 days and they would delay the start by a day since they didn’t need 3 days.
> On day 2, low and behold, Jude comes by stating oh well this is going to take longer than we expected and they would need that extra day 3.
> Day 3 just passed and now they need a day 4. I kid you not. We know things happen but we have detailed promises (on emails) from Jude that this would only take 2 days after we expressed our fears.
> Now let me talk about the contractors. They seemed like pretty straight forward contractors. We have a toddler so we asked them to sanitize hands, wear booties in the house. Mask wearing is obviously enforced in our building unless you have documentation of vaccination. We have a private bathroom in our bedroom (closet was being built in our bedroom) and as a pregnant woman we asked them not to use our bathroom and we showed them the very close, clean, nice spare bathroom which they could use as needed.
> Well these men proceeded not to wear there masks, used our private bathroom, and then left a bloody napkin on my sink. Like the disrespect to not follow our simple instructions on not using a private bedroom bathroom and then to leave a health hazard on my sink is so gross and unprofessional.
> So If you learn anything from me, when you first meet Jude he seems well prepared and he will deliver a professional, project. But he doesn’t deliver on promises, is overpriced (don’t get me started there), and has subpar contractors.

> Transform installed a wall bed unit for me a few years ago. It was beautiful. Unfortunately it was installed incorrectly, and fell off the wall this year (it literally fell down, almost hitting me). I'm safe but they will not return calls for repair.

> I had closets installed for a bedroom in 2007. They were dismantled & reassembled when we relocated to N.C. in 2016. When we relocated back to N.Y. this year, the closets came with us again. This time however, some of the little speciality screws got lost in the move. I placed a call to transfFORM and they were kind enough to send 4 of these screws in the mail, so the closets could be reassembled again. I was thoroughly pleased with this wonderful customer service. Their workmanship is really excellent and the closets are so functional and look great too! I am so happy with these closets, I am now going to have some installed in my laundry room. I'm also so happy to be back home in NY!

**Comment from transFORM Home:**

> Jane, welcome back to NY! We'd like to thank you for taking the time to write about your experience with transFORM. We're so happy that everything worked out and we look forward to working with you on your next project. I will be sure to share this with our Service Manager, Richard.

> I don't usually write this kind of post but feel that I have to put this information out there. We recently used TRANSFORM to build closets and built ins in our bedroom. The experience was TERRIBLE. It started out great. They actually came to our house the same day we requested. Then...
>
> They did not return phone calls in what anyone would consider a reasonable amount of time and scheduling the build was a nightmare. They measured incorrectly in multiple places, installed the unit poorly (drawers didn't open, panels were upside down), they scratched our new tile floor, and the final product doesn't match the original design. A friend of ours came over and without our prompting, pointed out the unprofessional looking aspects of the built ins and could not believe this was done by a design firm.
>
> We tried to work with them to fix the product. It took weeks of stress, upset, and frustration to get a meeting to plan the fixes, and we felt completely dismissed by the owner with whom we finally spoke. He was disrespectful and condescending to us on the phone. He blamed us for problems with their measurements (!) and told me that I have to understand that they couldn't return my multiple calls for weeks because their business is growing so rapidly, making things like returning phone calls difficult. In my opinion, I don't have to understand. We paid for a certain level of service and did not receive it.
>
> They had to come back multiple times to correct problems, and it still does not look the way it was designed. While they agreed to some fixes, which they have reminded us over and over again are generous on their part, the product is still not built to what we would consider a professional standard and what we were led to expect. And in the end, they insisted that we pay the full price.
>
> The length of this post is a testament to how upsetting this experience has been for us. Please beware when choosing to use TRANSFORM and consider looking at other companies. We wish we had.

**★★★★★ — Elaine Bruzzese, March 2017**

> Transform did an amazing job in installing our bedroom and walk-in closet. We look forward to the installation of our wall unit and the fabrication and installation of our wall in clothes closet. Such a pleasure working with a wonderful and knowledgeable staff.

**Comment from transFORM Home:**

> Elaine, thank you for taking the time to review your experience with transFORM. I know our staff enjoyed working with you as much as you enjoyed working with them!

**★★★★★ — Michele McCarthy, March 2017**

> I used TransFORM 10 years ago to build a custom closet in my NYC apartment. First the first time, the hanging bar/flange fell down (which was my own fault for overloading with too many clothes). I called Richard at TransFORM and he was a pleasure to work with. He quickly got back to and send a pair of flange to my apartment. I would highly recommend TransForm if you're in need of a custom closet.

**★ — Lynn Giordano, Feb. 2017**

> We installed his and hers reach in custom closets in our master bedroom with Transform in November 2016. The initial consultation visit was very promising and the designer we were working with couldn't have been more pleasant. She seemed knowledgable and very willing to help us get what we wanted at a price we were comfortable with. The measurements that were taken during this visit were used to present us with the options available.
> The install was scheduled for a few weeks later and went just as smoothly as the planning appointment. It wasn't until after the installation, when we started to fill the closet, that we noticed our clothes didn't quite fit. Shirts and suit jackets hang onto lower levels, making it difficult to open and close the drawers below, and clothes stick too far out, limiting the use of accessories, like tie racks and valets rods. Our original closets have more than enough height and width remaining to avoid these issues so we didn't quite understand why the customization wasn't built with these specifications in mind. If they had been constructed a few inches taller and deeper, they would be able to accommodate the height and width of our clothing as well as the accessability of the tie racks and valet rods.
> When we contacted Transform with our concerns, they offered to increase the dimensions of the closet but at significant cost to us, including an additional $250.00 service fee, apparently because we had "signed a contract" based on tiny schematic drawings.
> Though the closets are a tremendous improvement over the original rod and shelf, we're greatly disappointed with the outcome, and wish that the actual utility of the space had been discussed before the install, not after.
> We don't build closets. Why would we consider the height and width of clothing in regard to small reference drawings? Especially when dealing with professionals. My advice to anyone considering using Transform, make sure you measure your closets and show the consultant your clothes to make sure they understand how tall and wide your build out needs to be. Don't assume your items will fit, assure that they will. It will save you a lot of money and aggravation in the end.
> On a side note, I'd also suggest you discuss ALL options and upgrades during the initial consultation. Apparently there are a number of upgrades available, like higher quality materials and soft close drawers, that for some reason, were not immediately brought to our attention. It wasn't until the discussion of a separate concern that upgrades were mentioned. I doubt that I'd be interested in each and every one available, but it would've been nice to know the options were there.

> I did extensive research, both large chains and private companies, before choosing transFORM to create my walk-in closet. I submitted a request for a sales call online on their website and within 30 minutes I had an appointment. I met with designer, Melissa, who was absolutely wonderful. I had to hold off on the project for several months after our first meeting, but Melissa kept in touch periodically to let me know that she was available when I was ready. Never pushy or annoying the way some salespersons can be. Once I was ready to move forward, Melissa was a real pleasure to work with. Always professional, creative and very responsive. She listened to my needs and never tried to sell me anything I didn't need or want. The installation was also done as promised, in fact, Melissa managed to do the install a week earlier to accommodate my schedule. The installation and installer, Sashtree, were also outstanding. Very respectful and professional. Melissa also stopped by twice to check on the job as it was being installed. She even gave me decorative design ideas for the space. In the end, I have a very functional closet that looks elegant as well. The product is excellent quality. Soft close draws, custom shelving and a lot of flexibility. Some companies are very limited with what they can do, at transFORM, this is not the case. I am very pleased. Everyone at the company is professional, responsive and friendly. They delivered on their promises. Highly recommend transFORM and designer, Melissa.

## Community Q&A

**Q: which white color is used on the wood?** *(in Photo Questions)*

which white color is used on the wood?

A: Hi Kaushal,

Thanks for asking!

We use Benjamin Moore paint for all our custom-painted projects. This one should be Simply White (OC-117). You can find it along with other shades of white at this link: https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/color-overview/color-palettes/color-families/white-paint-colors

Have a great day!

**Q: Lighting in room** *(in Photo Questions)*

This home office is an outstanding use of a small space. What kind of lighting was used to make such a small, windowless space not seem claustrophobic? I can't see any ceiling lights in the picture. Thanks!

A: Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us. For this home office we used strong under-mounted & recessed puck lights from Hafele.

**Q: Do you ship?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you custom design a home office and then ship the custom cabinets, desk, etc. to another state so contractor can install?

A: Hi Valerie, Thank you for contacting us. Please email info@transformhome.com with the details of your project (location, scope of work, floor plans, etc), and we will let you know if we will be able to accomodate your request. Have a nice day.

**Q: Who makes the floor lamp? Thanks!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: You're welcome! Good luck with the renovation. We look forward to hearing from you when you're ready. Have a great day.

**Q: what are the dimensions of the shoe rack? very nice!!!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi,

Thank you for asking. The shoe section is roughly 118" high x 78" wide and 14" deep. If you are interested in scheduling a consultation with us, please visit transformhome.com or call 914.500.1000.

Have a nice day.

**Q: What are the depth of the shelves? 12"?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I see the heights vary, are most 12-18"? thank you

A: Hello,

Thanks for asking. The shelves are 16" deep. They are adjustable to accomodate the various items placed on them so the section heights vary.

Please feel free to contact at 914-500-1000 if you are interested in a consultation and are located in our service areas: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island City, Riverdale, City Island, Westchester County, or Fairfield County.

Have a nice day.
