## Community Q&A

**Q: Orange Floors- what color walls?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

we are buying a home with finished basement for kids. The floors are orange and we kind of like it but what color walls would you do??

A: Periwinkle blue, or marine blue, similar to the trampoline? in the photo

**Q: Cover or do not cover? Shade or Drapery?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

View windows in the open floor plan. Living in cold northern climate, any sunshine is appreciated, even on hot summer day. Some people say no need to cover them. Once I thought covering them with drapery. But it is very difficult to find the right curtain rail system for dining area. So I am coming to, light filtering cell shade for the dining windows, vertical vinyl shade for sliding door and big window, blackout cell shade for small window in the living. This way, I can make living area dark for media wall.
Before I make the final decision, I want to know what you think or your experience on making decision about window covering. I appreciate any comment. Thanks.

A: I would use an insulated Swedish roll-up blind in a wool fabric in the winter, for nightime, primarily, and in summer the same type of shade in a beautiful linen.

**Q: What fabric patterns go with a floral chintz with deep red background?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Would like some curtain panels

A: I'm all for the chevron!!! If the color is off slightly, better yet. It will give it punch!!

**Q: need help to dress up the front of the building in an economical way** *(in Design Dilemma)*

i was thinking changing the roof top and maybe adding stone to the front and I need to move the door over to the left a few feet

A: A green roof would be perfect ! For the facade, maybe shipping container panels?

**Q: Amazing kitchen! How do you decide which historic elements need to be restored or removed? What's the process?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Nice mix of materials!

**Q: tile information** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the tile on the floor, can you please tell me about the tile, the manufacturer, material, colour, thank you

A: Ann Sacks has a lot of options like this. Love the cabinet divider.
