**★★★★★ — Andrea Shepard, Sept. 2022**

> I absolutely love working with this family! I have ordered cabinets for multiple projects and they are always beautiful! They do an incredible job with design. Some of the projects are taking my vision and turning it into a beautiful space or letting them take the design and running with it! I highly recommend CKD! Large or small budget, they can fit every need! Kitchen and Dining room are next! Thank you to Jonathan for all your amazing designs!

**★★★★★ — Elena Torres, Sept. 2022**

> Christine and Colorado Kitchen Design did a great job in designing my kitchen and providing cabinets for my whole house. My cabinets have a very clean, sophisticated look that fits the design I wanted in my house. Christine also added several touches to the cabinet design to focus on functionality. Ordering cabinets during Covid was particularly challenging with long lead times. Christine worked closely with my designer to ensure we ordered at the right time to take into account the extended lead-times. After delivery, she was diligent in fixing any issues we had post install to ensure I had the best experience and got the design we all planed for.

> I love this company. They are the most service oriented folks in the business. I have remodeled my entire home with this company.
> Jonathon and Keith will go the extra mile to make you happy. One of our cabinets was damaged and it was ordered and replaced immediately. As a Realtor, I can't recommend them enough. They also have a beautiful showroom to make your choices so easy.

**★★★★★ — Nash Remodeling, LTD., Sept. 2022**

**Comment from Colorado Kitchen Designs:**

> Thank you jeff for your kind words! Always a pleasure working with you!

**★★★★★ — Linda Henke, July 2021**

> Worked with CKD on bringing our 1980’s kitchen into the modern age (see before and after) Jon was patient, knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire process. His expertise went beyond the kitchen to help me find contacts for flooring, tile and our General Contractor. He brought my vision to life, and for all the work and nerves that go into a project this size, I never had anything to worry about. Jon’s communication was proactive and thorough, and timelines were met. Kitchen renovations are not cheap, and I feel that every dollar spent was more than worth it, thanks to Jon and the CKD team.

**★★★★★ — Ciarra Taylor, Jan. 2020**

> Our company has worked with Jill and Jonathan of Colorado Kitchen Designs on two out of state residential projects and we intend to continue working with them on several future projects. Throughout the process, from initial design, to ordering, and delivery, they have been great to work with. Their designs are top notch and they have good recommendations for the best way to utilize spaces. Being that our projects are out of state, Jill and Jonathan have utilized video calls to see our projects and we send them sketches with measurements. There have been spaces where we tried to come up with our own floor plan and they just didn't work. Jill and Jonathan saw our sketch and came back with an ingenious design that we hadn't thought of. Communication is clear, consistent, and timely. When we encountered a bump here or there they showed integrity and made everything right. I highly recommend their services and look forward to working with them on future projects.

**Comment from Colorado Kitchen Designs:**

> We have a residential construction company that has used Jill, Jonathan and Christine for 12 years. We’ve had nothing but excellent experiences with them and consider them great friends. From small projects to multi million dollar estates, the customer service and attention to detail has been the same regardless of size. Their designs and products are beautiful but it’s their integrity and family approach that keeps us coming back. I highly recommend CKD.

**★★★★★ — nicole conard designs LLC, Jan. 2020**

> Great offering and service for my clients! I work with Colorado Kitchen Designs for my small, medium and large scale projects.

**★★★★★ — Gail Hommertzheim, Jan. 2020**

> As builders, we’ve worked with CKD for years. It’s a wonderful family business that takes a practical, and personal approach when working with clients. They go above and beyond to make sure everything is done right. They have great ideas, are up on the trends, but don’t charge the outrageous prices some kitchens design firms do. Designing a new kitchen can be intimidating but CKD is extremely approachable, and they really listen to what their clients want. Never pushy. Highly recommended!

**★★★★★ — Mary Jo Cartoni, Dec. 2019**

> Jill Ellis of Colorado Kitchen Design recently helped us with a kitchen remodel and we couldn’t be happier with both the process and the final result. Jill is a wonderful listener, creative problem-solver, and has excellent resources for everything that one might need for such an endeavor (in our case cabinetry, quartz, tile, and hardware).
>
> The new layout is so much more functional than the old one and the materials really are beautiful. There were no surprises in re: to costs and the very few small issues that arose were immediately addressed efficiently and expertly with no significant impact on the projected timeline. We have experience with a prior kitchen remodel as well as with new home construction, so know something about how such things can go. Jill and Colorado Kitchen Design will be the first we reach out to for any and all of our future remodeling needs.

**Comment from Colorado Kitchen Designs:**

> Thank you Mary Jo, you kitchen turned out beautiful. It has been a pleasure working with you!

**★ — Janis Le, Dec. 2014**

> My experience with Colorado Kitchen Designs began reasonably well but then deteriorated rapidly. At the beginning, they were helpful, if slow to respond to calls and emails. I picked out a beautiful (and expensive) master bathroom vanity that consisted of 5 cabinets and put 50% down on August 15th. The turnaround time was quoted as 6-7 weeks. Then I tried to buy a countertop from them and the response to emails and phone calls, not quick to begin with, slowed down significantly. I kept being passed from one representative to another as the person I worked with one week always seemed to be on vacation the following week. I ended up going through Home Depot for a countertop – and got a similar quality at a fraction of CKD’s quoted price and with far superior customer service.
> Then when the vanity was due to arrive, it turned out that the CKD staff had entered the wrong sizes for some of the cabinets and hadn’t found out until they arrived in town. They were slow to admit the error. I had to wait an additional month for the corrected cabinets and when they arrived they were slightly darker than the original batch. They had to be installed under the countertop in order for me to have completion before Thanksgiving. CKD never contacted me throughout the whole fiasco, apparently preferring to deal with my contractor rather than discussing with me. They certainly never apologized or offered me any recompense, and protested vigorously when I suggested a discount was due.
> I strongly recommend finding another supplier. It seems if the service starts out slow where you’re working, it isn’t likely to improve.

**★★★★★ — bertmizke, July 2013**

> Jill and company helped me design and build my dream kitchen. It's been four years and my kitchen still looks brand new. I get compliments on it all the time. When it's time for a refresh, she's the one I'll go to. She's also helped me with bathroom cabinets that are unique and beautiful. Jill made the process so fun and effortless.

## Community Q&A

**Q: kitchen cabinet/niche design options** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I would like to remove the doors of this over the microwave cabinet and use it as a design niche in the kitchen.
Opinions, ideas, bad idea?

A: Your micro is pretty low. what about taking out the cabinet over the micro completely, buying a nice looking small open cabinet and moving that micro up? I like to have at least 24" of space there for cooking room.

**Q: Custom refrigerator panels - cost more than appliance??** *(in Appliances)*

Looking for those who have fully integrated appliances with custom panels — can anyone share the cost of their custom cabinetry panels or a cost range? We are being quoted more money for the panels than actual appliance! Any insights would be much appreciated.

A: @Michelle Caruso for 2

**Q: Paint job - am I too picky?** *(in Paint)*

Hello,
I hired painters to take care of a back porch that’s screened in. They’ve had to come back several times to finish the job as I continue to find places that were missed. Sometimes I feel as if I’m watching a 6 year old.
I’m asking if I’m being too picky. I do fought that after the painters were finished that I would not be able to see any wood. I’d like to know if I’m being too picky or if this is normal. I’m starting to doubt my thoughts as I’m finding myself checking my anger. I do enjoy being upset, I enjoy even less having to pay for services that were not properly rendered.
Thank you for your thoughts and feedback,
Ken

A: looks like they are assuming you are putting base board in. Have you explained you are not?

**Q: How to extend a 45° countertop** *(in Remodeling)*

Hello,New home owner here! I currently have granite countertops. They cut off at an almost - 45° angle. I want to increase countertop space, so hoping to add cabinets and a look-alike faux granite countertop. I am pretty handy, but not sure how to go about this one. What is the easiest? Try to get an identical cut to seamlessly fit another slab, or cut my current granite to 90° and buy another 90° slab? I would really rather not damage my current granite tops. Attached is a picture of my existing counter (outlined in red). And how I want to extend it (outlined in blue).

A: Maybe take out the 45 cabinet and add 2 or 3 cabinets to create the peninsula. And have them cut the stone (assuming it will cut ok in place) and do the whole new section in a butcherblock top. something totally different than the granite.

**Q: kitchen layout feedback please** *(in Building a Home)*

We are working on fine tuning our kitchen layout. I have plans to meet with a kitchen designer but am hoping to get some tips and suggestions to the kitchen layout below so I take all ideas into consideration. I do have plans to move the range to the right slightly so it is offset from the sink and I am contemplating moving the wine fridge next to the full size fridge or to our cabinetry near the dining room. The view out the breakfast room is to a lake.

A: Just finished this kitchen. No issue with the sink and range across from eachother if you leave enough space. It really does look best. I would lose the prep sink though.

**Q: What is the paint and treatment on the hood and island?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love the color and patina and distressing of the hood and island. How was this done? I would love to know the paint choice and the vintage aging details. It looks so warm and timeless.
Thank you!

A: This is a finish by Holiday Kitchens called Cornsilk. I'm not sure if they still do it as we no longer sell this line of cabinetry.
