**★★★★★ — Oliver Ryan, April 2018**

> We have worked with HOUSEworks on two projects, the first was a bathroom remodel in San Francisco, the second a major remodel of a house in Mill Valley. We were extremely satisfied with both projects, Jeff and team did an outstanding job of understanding what we wanted, translating that into a plan that fit within our budget and delivering on it meeting all expectations. The team was also very responsive and supportive if we ever had any issues, even some time after the work was complete where we had a problem with an installed product (not the fault of his team) and he promptly had someone come to the house to fix it. Would highly recommend for any design/build projects, very high quality work, no corners cut, extremely professional and we would (and probably will) work with them again.

**★★★★★ — jdflake, April 2016**

> Our first project with Houseworks was a new homeowner nightmare, extensive undetected dry rot 8 years ago. They were great at keeping us informed of the changing scope of work and developing and executing the repairs and did a wonderful job of restoring the façade of the house to its original state.
>
> We contacted them for our major kitchen and bathroom remodel based on their past excellent performance. We had ideas and with owner Jeff Kann’s guidance we finalized the plans and began the remodel. The crew from top to bottom are professional, competent and responsive. They kept us informed of the schedule of activities and cleaned up every day. They were very considerate and kept the parts of the house not involved in the remodel as clean and untouched as possible. They know people to call in for consultations, e.g., a structural engineer for earthquake retrofit and a consultant for a greywater system. Houseworks also has strong partnerships with quality vendors and subcontractors. All of their recommendations were great. The budget was the on our high end, however there were no surprises and we are very happy with the results. We would highly recommend Houseworks and we will use them for any future work.

> I have worked with Jeff and his Team for a number of Years and they are very dedicated to their Projects and their Clients Needs.
> They go up and beyond the expectations of clients and this makes things, not only easier on the Clients but on the Subs that are working the Project.
> I hope to complete many more projects with Houseworks and would recommend them to Anyone.

**★★★★★ — Design Set Match, June 2014**

> HOUSEworks is an excellent general contractor. They work with their clients to provide realistic and build-able budgets for their remodels. As a designer I have worked on several projects with them, and the client responses are giddy with excitement as they see their project unfold before their eyes from preliminary schematic drawings to walking into their new kitchen or bath. I can't wait to have these wonderful spaces photographed!

**★★★★★ — User, May 2013**

> I've worked with Jeff Kann and Houseworks on several occasions photographing finished projects. Houseworks projects always stand out to me because of the high level of finish and detailing. Joinery is tight, transitions are smooth, surfaces are level and smooth and exactly as they're intended by the designer -- makes these spaces a joy to photograph! The workmanship really comes through.
> Additionally, Jeff and his staff are excellent to work with. I'd be happy to shoot for Houseworks again.

**★★★★★ — Architect Andrew Morrall, April 2012**

> I have worked with Jeff Kann at HOUSEworks on multiple projects over the past several years. His focus on the clients objectives, ,professional and honest approach align with my values. I find his input on construction costs, ways and means to be invaluable in ensuring that the clients projects can be built without sacrificing my design intent. His company consists of building professionals who build with attention to detail and first class craftsmanship.
> I look forward to working with Jeff on future projects and gladly recommend his firm to others.
>
> They manage a construction project from concept through construction, working collaboratively with me as the Architect to ensure that my design is realized in the final built project. Often times, it is only because of Houseworks excellence that my most creative design details are implemented with such care and precision. They are outstanding communicators and managers, engaging both the Clients and myself as the Architect throughout the Design + Build process. They use their construction know-how to quickly adapt unique field conditions often present in Remodeling in San Francisco.
>
> I look forward to our ongoing relationship, and enthusiastically recommending Houseworks to my clients.

## Community Q&A

**Q: I have used the picture in my blog by mentioning your company name.** *(in Photo Questions)*

If it is not proper , please let me know and please check the below link. Thank you in advance and have a great day.
http://www.solacehomedesign.com/eternal-trend-black-galaxy-granite-countertop/

A: Please also change the photo credit to read HOUSEworks Design + Build

**Q: What are those straw looking things behind the chair?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What are those straw like things behind the chair? They even look like it glass panels because of the silver bracket on top holding them?

A: The panels are acrylic and the pattern is called Ting Ting from 3Form.

**Q: what size pocket door is this? 32", 36", or 34"?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: This is a 36" door.

**Q: How does a quad open the pocket door?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I would like to understand your question better. Are you referring to someone that is a quadriplegic? This bathroom was designed with Universal Design elements in mind which is very different from one that would be designed and equipped for a very specific individual need, that perhaps a quadriplegic might have.

**Q: the custom glass door, is there something special I should ask for, or should any glass company capable?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The shower floor is sloped to drain towards the linear drain with a custom shower pan.

**Q: How high is the pony wall separating the shower from the toilet?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I have a similar situation and I'm trying to decide if I like an all glass wall or the privacy gained by making a pony wall. I can't figure out what a comfortable height would be for that pony wall.

A: The pony wall you are referring to is this picture is about 40" tall.
