### Reviews

**★★★★★ — C T Wrubel, Sept. 2015**

> I needed to renovate a 1980s kitchen. Countertops were formica and the rolled vinyl floor had discolored and become brittle from the sun. Mary from Wayside Kitchens came up with an excellent design to improve the flow and give me even more counterspace. I opted for a ceramic tile floor that was a copy of the one in their showroom. Cabinets went from heavy oak to natural cherry. Countertops went from formica to engineered quartz. The subcontractors Mary works with (tiling, carpentry, plumbing, painting and electrical) were all very professional. The bulk of the work was done from the second week in November to the week of Christmas. Still awaiting the final inspection, but the kitchen is now first-class and should stay in style for quite a few years. Mary and Jim rock! I would recommend them to anyone in the area.

> Mary and Jim designed and built a beautiful kitchen for us! While I had a good idea of what I wanted, Mary was able to give me additional ideas and tweak my vision - I love the results! Mary was also sensitive to budget requirements and knew when to suggest splurges and when to save. Jim and his crew did excellent, efficient work. We had a wall taken down as part of the project and the carpentry, electrical, and plumbing were all executed in a timely and skilled manner. They finished up all punch list items as requested. The only small difficulty was getting the tile guy to commit to a schedule!

**Comment from Wayside Kitchens:**

> It was a real pleasure to work with you. It was easy for us to work with you on this project because you understood construction and budgets. The few times a small issue would come up you had a quick answer and avoided delays. Your kitchen was transformed into a fitting space for your family and others to enjoy meals and conversation. It's beautiful!

> We hired Mary and Jim for a complete kitchen remodel. They are a great team. Mary designed the kitchen via computer graphics so we were able to really visualize what was going to take place. Her estimates were within the range of other companies that we interviewed; however her design was what sold us on the project. Her design comments were first rate. We had a deadline and a family function where this needed to be completed on time and it was. I also work from home and the entire crew was respectful of this. Mary provided us with a day by day outlook calendar so we could gage where electricity and noise might be an issue. Their team of contractors were consummate professions. We added painting of one room and still all work was completed on time.
>
> We hope to use them for a bathroom remodel

**Comment from Wayside Kitchens:**

> It was such a pleasure to work with you and your husband to create your gorgeous new kitchen. We are so glad that we were able to meet your schedule requirements. Please let us know when you are ready for your master bath. We look forward to work with you again.

> Mary designed and built a most wonderful new kitchen for our family of five which includes three children in their 20s. She was very knowledgeable about all the detailed issues, layout and she designed several possibilities. She provided detailed computer graphic representations of the kitchen designs so we could clearly see how the different layouts would look. The kitchen includes a beautiful 4'x9' granite island with cabinets on both sides for extra storage space. The island is so lovely that it was conducive to having my children sit down during the holidays and ask "what can we do to help you?" You can be sure that this was a first and I believe that it was Mary's wonderful kitchen design that facilitated this!

**Comment from Wayside Kitchens:**

> Thank you for the great review Marana. It was a pleasure working with you and Mark. Your old kitchen was a challenge for us, but we all put our heads together and came up with a layout that fits your home the best. We are glad that the design fits not only your house, but the way you live, cook and entertain. I got to see your kitchen in "action" at your party. I never imagined we could fit so many ladies around that island!
>
> We got a follow up email about the review from Marana and we had to share it.
> Here it is:
> "I think I should have read the other reviews first, before I wrote mine because I do not think my review will make you cry !!
> I should have said HOW WONDERFUL Jim was and how amazing his workmanship AND how much I loved Select Stone........OY !!"
> Thank you so much for your business.

> Dear Mary and Jim,
>
> John and I can't thank you enough for helping us realize the kitchen of our dreams. Mary, your taste and sense of style is amazing and we appreciate how you took so much time to understand what we wanted and to work with us to create a beautiful, designer kitchen. I am so happy with the quality of the cabinets, the design, and a layout which makes it so much easier for me to work. Your attention to the details makes all the difference in the world from a nice kitchen to a kitchen that really rocks. I've had so many positive comments from my blogging followers from South Africa to Australia and the United States that you could be getting requests for overseas assignments. The only regret that I have is that we didn't do this sooner but I'm so happy to have the beautiful space for Christmas - it's the best gift I could imagine.
>
> Jim, I thank you for you quality work and attention to detail - your craftsmanship and professionalism is greatly appreciated. I was so impressed that you both were on site when critical parts of the project were being done, such as the granite installation. Please thank all of your subcontractors who were top notch professionals. In a project of this scope and length, I appreciate your consideration in making this renovation as easy as possible.
>
> Please feel free to use us as references. I will be sure to let friends know about you. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and fabulous New Year. Thank you again.

> Hi Diane and John,
> Thank you so much for the beautiful letter. I actually choked up reading it. I know that you have health issues and I really wanted you to have a special space to make your days a bit better. I am so happy for you and John. You guys have been nothing but super nice to us and we have enjoyed working for you. Jim misses your company, not to mention your lunches. He tells me you fed him?! You are very sweet to do that. He misses Lola too. Thank you for sending the picture the other day. We all love to hear about the Lola adventures. Thank you so much for sharing the gorgeous pictures of your kitchen with us. I will stop by to look at again now that it is complete.

> After a lot of research, I chose Wayside Kitchens in Littleton for my kitchen renovation project. What appealed to me the most about Wayside was the fact that Mary and Jim did everything from design to installation including providing the subcontractors for the electrical, plumbing etc. For someone that works fulltime, this was a godsend. Mary and Jim were fantastic! Mary is an excellent designer. She makes great suggestions but also really listens to your feedback. Jim's work is meticulous. They pay attention to every last detail which is so important to me. Wayside also did our bathroom as well which came out excellent. I highly recommend Wayside and would use them again in a heartbeat!!!

> Mary and Jim of Wayside Kitchens make a great team. We spent over a year with Mary revising and revising our kitchen layout until finally agreeing to a plan. Mary showed tremendous patience with us and when the rest of the project delayed the cabinet install, she arranged with the cabinet maker to hold our shipment for months until we were ready for them. Jim expertly and quickly assembled our cabinets and showed tremendous flexibility when at the last minute we changed our peninsula layout to an island layout. The project is complete, and we are still friends. :) All joking aside, we love and enjoy using our new kitchen.

**Comment from Wayside Kitchens:**

> Thank you Kris and Nancy for working with us. We enjoyed working with you and your new kitchen is beautiful. You have a gorgeous house to raise your 3 girls. I am sure that you will create many wonderful memories around the island. I love the way your kitchen was transformed! Thanks again for choosing to work with us.

**★★★ — azramirez, July 2013**

> good selection, prices were a bit steep so that is why i chose to shop elsewhere and eventually completed my project thus.

**Comment from Wayside Kitchens:**

> Thank you very much for taking the time to review our company. We are glad that you completed your project and seem to be happy. However, we are not aware of your project and your specific requirements. Your name does not seem familiar. Who did you speak with at our company? What was your project? We would appreciate a response so that we can better serve you and other clients in the future.

**★★★★★ — ericarocks, May 2013**

> Our kitchen remodel was completed by Wayside Kitchens. We are so happy we decided to go with Wayside! Mary and Jim are simply fantastic!
>
> Mary is the designer and handles the timeline for the kitchen remodel project. Jim is the general contractor and the cabinet installer. Both Mary and Jim are easy going if we had questions in regards to design or any thing that was going on with the remodel. I could call, email or text and I would get a response back within minutes.
>
> We have a mid size kitchen and Mary was able to utilize every nook in our kitchen. The flow and the design is just what I had envsioned during the planning process. I took ideas from Houzz while planning my dream kitchen. I sent the idea book to Mary and she came up with a sample of color door, granite for the counter top and floor tile that she thought I would like. She was spot on when putting the combinations together for me. Of course we had some tweaks here and there, but Mary listened to what I wanted in the design!
>
> Jim started the demo process the week of a spring snow storm. He missed a day during the week since everyone was burried in but came out that saturday to finish demo and have us stay on the timeline of the kitchen project. During the renovation project Jim made sure everything was properly tarped off and all dust stayed within the kitchen I never came home to dust and debris everywhere. His craftmanship with the cabinet install was really great!
>
> I can't say enough how wonderful it was to work with Mary and Jim. Remodeling is stressful, plain and simple and I needed a company that was on top of everything during the kitchen reno.
>
> Mary and Jim thanks again for our beautiful kitchen!

**Comment from Wayside Kitchens:**

> It was a pleasure working with you on this project. I am glad that we were able to help you improve the function on the space. Your kitchen looks so much bigger now. I love all the finishes too. I hope you and your family cook-up many happy memories in your beautiful new kitchen,

**★★★★★ — Trina Miller, April 2013**

> Wayside Kitchens designed and installed our new kitchen in spring 2012. We are completely satisfied with the entire experience. Mary started by presenting us with three different layout options. Once we selected the layout she guided us through the selection of cabinets, finishes and stone materials. Her showroom has a great selection, but it is organized in a way that makes it easy to put a great look together.
> The layout Mary recommended maximized our work and storage space. Our island is huge, but yet somehow does not leave our medium size kitchen feeling cramped. Mary's skills really benefited us in this area.
>
> Mary also put us in touch with a great flooring supplier and installer. She went the extra mile to make sure we were happy with the entire finished product, not just the parts that she was responsible for.
>
> When it came time for installation, we were thrilled with the meticulous job that Jim did. Every detail is perfect!
>
> You can see pictures of my kitchen (and my daughter) at http://www.houzz.com/projects/77578/The-Wayside-Kitchens-Baby-is-born

**Comment from Wayside Kitchens:**

> Thank you so much Trina. We loved working with you guys! Your kitchen was a challenge, but I think we created a better space for your lovely growing family. We were so happy that you allowed us to take pictures of your beautiful baby girl in a drawer. She is adorable! Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you in the future.

**★★★★★ — kwd3, April 2013**

> We hired Mary, at Wayside Kitchens, because we felt really comfortable with her and their family owned company is not far from our house. In addition, she assured us she could design a kitchen within our budget and timeframe with the features and materials we desired (which is more than we can say for some of the bigger competitors). She and her assistant presented us with three designs which met our main goals of additional storage space and better lighting. We were able to pick elements from two of those to create the final design. The styles/colors she choose for use were spot on with our likes so we didn't have to do much back and forth.
>
> We were able to get semi-custom cherry cabinets with soft close hardware including large drawers in the island, spice rack next to the oven and lazy suzan in the corner. Mary's initial choice for the granite slab was also to our liking and had a great feature to present on the island. The floor was changed from linoleum to 20 inch porcelain tiles and the back splash now consists of textured tiles with smaller glass tiles for added color. We also have a nice deep stainless steel sink and excellent faucet. New appliances were not in our budget, but her design did leave space for a larger fridge in the future. While the pot lights were included in the budget the actual pendant lights we selected.
>
> Mary's husband, Jim, performed the demolition and the cabinet installation and trim. He worked professionally and timely. He even let our 4 year old son "help". The rest of work was performed by sub-contractors. The electrical work, wall preparation and counter top measurement and installation were all performed with much professionalism. Unfortunately the tile work was not up to ours or Wayside Kitchen's expectations with uneven tile placement and lack of clean up. Mary brought in a different sub-contractor to fix what errors he could. Unfortunately full correction of the backsplash would have damaged the drywall. To be fair the remaining mistakes are not immediately noticeable until closer inspection but Mary and Jim still compensated for the trouble to our satisfaction.
>
> Even with that minor bump the project stayed under budget and only a week or two beyond the expected end date. We got the kitchen we desired with the features we wanted. We love Mary and Jim and would definitely use their services again and recommend them to our friends.

**Comment from Wayside Kitchens:**

> Thank you very much for your review. It was a true pleasure to work with you and Becky. You guys have great taste. I enjoyed choosing the materials and cabinets for your kitchen. I had never place that many cabinets in a 4'X6' island! We love you guys and your boys are very special to us. Jim looked forward to working at your house and much appreciated the help from his favorite helper! If you ever need anything in the future, please call us. Thank you for your business!

> As a general contractor I depend on my partners to be professional and trustworthy people. Mary Regan from Wayside Kitchens is a genuinely nice person to work with an impressive breadth of knowledge on kitchen and bath design. Her patience coupled with her inspired designs have created some of the areas most beautiful kitchens and baths. We have worked on several projects together and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend Mary and the crew from Wayside Kitchen & Bath.
