> What a joy it was to work with Tammy! It is tough to experience a home remodel, let alone one that involves the kitchen. Tammy has a great personality, asks questions to get to the heart of what one really wants and shares a lot of ideas. Our project involved doubling our original kitchen space and with Tammy's help on cabinets and countertops - our kitchen is amazing! We love it...thank you Tammy!

  - Description: The Elevated Laundry Our client’s vision for this laundry room and mudroom remodel was to create a clean, efficient, and welcoming space with elevated style. What was once a purely utilitarian area is now an organized, joyful, and multifunctional room that supports everyday routines and reduces clutter from the family’s frequent use of the garage entry. Thoughtful cabinetry, improves organization, durable work surfaces, and dedicated areas for air-drying, sorting, and folding make the room feel…

  - Description: The builder grade honey oak cabinetry in this 1994 townhome has seen better days, along with the tired laminate countertops. Their new full-sized refrigerator took up too much space into the walkway to the back entry. They wanted proper ventilation over the range. The kitchen is located in the center of the main floor of the town home, surrounded by shared walls and bearing walls that couldn’t be changed. The designer presented a completely new open L-style layout to open the space. With this pl…

  - Description: This unique multi-level home was built in 1988. The kitchen had been updated in 2009 with a basis layout provided by a big box store, which suited them just fine at the time. But now that they were empty nesters and entertained their growing family often, the clients came to us wanting to upgrade their kitchen again, but this time in grand fashion. They wanted a show-stopping kitchen, complete with gourmet appliances, a better work triangle, seating for at least four at an island, and separate s…

  - Description: This retired couple came to us after purchasing a 1990 twin home in their efforts to downsize in their retirement. Their goal was to take this tired, builder-grade kitchen and turn it into the dazzling centerpiece of their new home. The clients list of must-haves included a tiled backsplash that made a statement, space for a TV, state of the art appliances to include a properly vented hood, changing the range from electric to gas and a full-sized French door refrigerator. They wanted as much add…

  - Description: A Jewel Box in Bloom Overview This client came to us wanting to elevate their powder bath from a beige, ordinary space into a luxurious room designed to leave a lasting impression on the most discerning guest. We transformed this powder bath into a dramatic jewel box retreat with luxury materials, modern storage solutions, and dramatic finishes which all work together to create a room that feels both immersive and artful. - Location: Eagan, MN

  - Description: The original kitchen space in this Cape Cod style home, built in 1974, was tucked in the middle of the main floor plan, surrounded by small closets, pantries, and doorways. A wood burning fireplace with brick chimney and surround located in the center of the home was used frequently, so the homeowners did not want that removed, but they were open to updating it to a gas fireplace. This couple frequently entertains large groups of family and clients, so a large open floor plan was desired. A stru…

  - Description: Built in 1989, this townhome’s architecture was practical, functional, and no-nonsense. The kitchen is located right inside the front entry and included two doorways and six windows. The simple existing kitchen layout was outdated, dark and uninviting. Demolition of the existing kitchen had already begun by the time our firm was brought into the project. Even with six windows in the space, the kitchen had very little natural light and a single ceiling light fixture in the center of the room, mak…

  - Description: A young farming family came to me with a dilemma. Do they purchase 3 acres of land and build a new home on it, or do they purchase 11 acres of land with a relatively new pole barn on the property but no home, and remodel the pole barn into a single-family residence. The clients chose the later, preferring the larger parcel of land. Mr. Homeowner currently works for a neighboring farm and had always dreamed of having his own land to farm. Mrs. Homeowner loves to garden and want to plot out her ow…

  - Description: 2017 NKBA Kitchen and Bath Design Competition Winner - Second Place, Small Kitchens This young couple came to me with a dilemma. Their kitchen was way to small! One of the homeowners was a chef by trade, and their current tiny kitchen was just not up to his standards. Their house is a typical split entry home, built in the late 80’s. The main floor contained only the tiny kitchen, a dining room and a living room. All other living spaces were on other levels. The home did have vaulted ceilings on…

  - Location: Woodbury, MN
  - Photos: 13
  - Description: Built in 1954, this split-level home’s architecture was practical, functional, and no-nonsense. The tiny galley kitchen was located in the center of the main level, measuring in at 110 sq.ft. The existing kitchen layout seemed to be a reaction to its surroundings – a family room addition was added by a previous homeowner sometime after the home was built, creating a high traffic lane that cut through part of the kitchen. Simple scratch built base cabinets were haphazardly tucked into an unused c…

  - Description: Built in 1947, this home’s architecture was practical, functional, and no-nonsense. Out of the overall 1836 sq.ft. of the home, the kitchen is located in the center 10’ x 14’ core, including three doorways and two windows. - Location: Woodbury, MN

  - Description: Entering the existing kitchen was like a time warp into the late 60’s. There were dark non-structural beams that lined the ceiling, a faux brick backsplash, an avocado-colored sink and a working lamp post that basically stood in the middle of the room. Not only was it dark, cramped and outdated, it lacked functionality and storage. The home was built in 1920 and has inhabited 3 generations of the same family. The most current family member and his wife are a stylish young couple who wanted a bud…

## Community Q&A

**Q: Floor Color ? Wall Color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hey,
what type of flooring did you put down in the kitchen (vinyl or real wood or laminate)? What color is it?
Also, what color did you choose for the walls (is it a gray)?

I absolutely love this remodel, it is warm and homie but also elegant in its own way.

Thanks :)

A: Thanks for your interest in my project. The floors are a prefinished wood floor product, I don't know the brand, but the wood species is rustic oak

**Q: color of vanities** *(in Design Dilemma)*

hello !

what color of vanities should i choose for 2 bathrooms?
i attached pictures
Floor same marble as wall
Thanks all

A: both tile patterns are a strong voice in the room.  For the cabinetry, I would look at light/muted wood tones, or off-white/ivory paint finish:  http://arrowcabinetgallery.com/portfolio/woodbury-bath-4/;

**Q: Countertop** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the name of the countertop? Thank you!

A: Granite, White Ornamental

**Q: Where can I get the tiles or backsplash.** *(in Photo Questions)*

arlenekitty@hotmail.com

A: The backsplash is full slabs of marble, cut to fit for the backsplash areas and walls above the cabinets.

**Q: cabinets** *(in Photo Questions)*

wood and stain?

A: Thank you for your interest in my project. The cabinets are Koch Cabinets, wood: Birch, stain: Chestnut

**Q: What is the color of granite?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Granite, White Ornamental
