The chocolate matches well, but it seems too dark for my kitchen. The Durango looks cleaner, but is about the same color as my floor and the old laminate backsplash. I've looked at some porcelain tiles as well, but they don't look as stylish as the tumbled stone. I have gotten very confused! One store suggested Picasso. (Second picture, pattern on the bottom right.) It matched well, but the Roman pattern seemed too busy. Thanks for any input you may have for me! A: i like the travertine on the right, simple and you won't tire of it! **Q: Summer home at the Ocean** *(in Design Dilemma)* I need some help with painting the brick fireplace white? I'm in the process of updating from the 60 ties to the 21st century. The room is white, but the window trim and doors are dark brow, plus the brick fireplace. It looks clean but gloomy I could use some help. A: painting the brick is the less expensive route, don't pick a really cool white unless all of your decor is cool- "white down" by Benjamin Moore is a nice warm white- but still "white" / or re-face on top of the brick with a nice tile - not so difficult to do if you have a good mason/tile setter. --- *Source: Houzz professional profile.
