### Featured Review

**★★★★★ — Carol Friedman, July 2019**

> Melissa is talented, knowledgeable and a joy to work with. I purchased an unfinished townhouse. Melissa worked effectively with the many personalities involved in this project, while staying within deadlines and budgets. Melissa designed the kitchen and assisted with all aspects of interior choices. From paint colors, to tiles to floors to lighting and appliances, Melissa did an amazing job translating my taste into a coherent and appealing space. Thank you, Melissa. I love my home!

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> Thank you Carol, for the kind words. I'm delighted I succeeded in conveying your design aesthetic to all parties involved, so that you got the modern space you envisioned from the start. Sometimes it take an outside eye (and an insistent voice) to get everyone on board with a design that's beyond the rote, basic options. I love your home too!

**★★★★★ — Jill A, May 2026**

> Melissa helped us complete the staging of our 1860s house for the real estate market. She helped us decide which furnishings should stay and go, chose new paint colors to update the interior, brought in her own staging materials and organized everything to make a lovely presentation for potential buyers. She enhanced the beauty of the house by working with its natural historic features. Melissa was easy to work with, fast, and responsive to our needs. I highly recommend her for design and staging projects!

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> Thanks Jill, I'm so pleased that the closing is almost complete, and that I was able to streamline the decision-making process for you and your family.

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> It was my pleasure to ready your beautiful home for sale. Thank you for giving me such great material to work with, and for trusting my vision.

**★★★★★ — Dori K., Oct. 2020**

> I thoroughly enjoyed working with Melissa on our summer home. She understood my vision and gave me new ideas to take it to the next level. She overcame any challenge that supply chain issues due to COVID threw at us. Her sources in the area were invaluable to me as a part-time resident, and they were top notch!! I am fairly discerning and was very impressed with Melissa - her responsiveness, creatively, ability to deliver, knowing how to push my ideas a bit more, and her humor, calm and patience during a particulalry difficult period. I wish I could bring Melissa with me to our regular home! I will definitely be working with her again!

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> It was as much of a pleasure for me to work with you as well. I'm thrilled that together, we succeeded in fulfilling your vision for your summer home (with more to come next summer!). I thank you for your patience and understanding the weirdness of Covid inventory/delivery times.

**★★★★★ — HU-385506125, Oct. 2020**

> We were exceedingly fortunate to have been introduced to Melissa. She went above and beyond to help stage our house for photos and showing. Working with what we have, and even loaning a few of her own items to tie a room together, she staged our house in a way that is aesthetically pleasing, yet enables us to continue to live here comfortably while it’s on the market. Having heard from friends that staging could be quite costly, we were pleasantly surprised when the final bill arrived. In short, Melissa is hardworking, has a great eye, is fun to work with, and charges a fair price. Would gladly work with her again.

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> Thank you! It was really fun editing your treasure trove of objects to get the house camera-ready. And thanks for being receptive to the suggestions for what would make the place show best. It looks really great, and I have no doubt you'll receive an offer soon that you'll want to accept.

**★★★★★ — Gail Landsman, Feb. 2020**

> We have a large Victorian home that was damaged down to the studs from a fire and water damage. Used to renovating one room at a time, we found ourselves overwhelmed by the prospect of picking out paint colors for the entire three floors as well as the exterior of the home. Melissa was wonderfully helpful. She was sensitive to our desires to keep colors true to the history and character of the house, and she was extremely knowledgeable about what would work. Her attention to detail was wonderful. The exterior of the house is now painted in six different colors, highlighting the house's architectural details, and neighbors have given us positive reviews! It is also no exaggeration to say that between walls, ceilings, and trim, about 20 different colors we used in the interior. We could not have done it without her. She also gave us excellent advice in choosing bathroom floor and wall tiles, as well as historic wallpaper reproductions, and she responded quickly to all our questions. Melissa helped us reach our goal of giving each room its own special character while still having a unified feel to the home. Highly recommended.

**★★★★★ — Lucy Beckman, Dec. 2019**

> I never imagined picking out paint colors could be so challenging, but a few months ago I found myself in a living room full of painters, suddenly realizing I needed an experienced interior design professional with more advanced color and texture knowledge and experience.
>
> So I immediately contacted Melissa Pollack of Bespoke Décor!
>
> Melissa came to our house right away, with her treasure chest of amazing ideas and color selection tools. Melissa selected colors both bold and subtle: her choices were unusual – nothing I would have chosen. Utilizing a complex chameleon like subtle grey-white on the ceiling, full-spectrum creamy white on the walls, and a bold dark blueish charcoal for our old brick fireplace wall, Melissa’s deep knowledge of color helped transform this late mid-century Adirondack style pine-paneled living room into a brighter, more modern space with a Scandinavian flair! Bravo, Melissa! We are thrilled!
>
> And so, after such a stunning transformation of the living room area, we are very excited about working with Melissa to remodel our entire home now, beginning with the kitchen and dining room.
>
> Sitting with Melissa in our dining room a few weeks ago as she quickly transforms room layouts on her tablet – re-arranging cabinetry, counter tops and surfaces, islands, appliances, furniture, etc. – deftly swapping out colors, decor and other details, demonstrating room views from every angle, we are able to see before us a fully-realized room-by-room home renovation, delivering our home to this new millennium.
>
> Melissa is a dream to work with. She has endless creative design and layout ideas catering to client’s taste and lifestyle, always considering practical and ergonomic functions. She uses interactive layout and design software to show clients the many possibilities for room layouts including cabinetry, counter tops, appliances, windows and doors, etc., helping to visualize the finished result during the planning stage.
>
> Melissa is deeply experienced with a wide network of resources for furniture, décor, textiles, paint matching, etc. She is detail-oriented, responsive, and always helpful with multiple solutions for each issue, working tirelessly to realize her client’s needs and desires.
>
> Whether remodeling or staging for a home sale, you know you are in expert hands with Melissa.

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> Thank you! It's been a load of fun taking your vision and making it real. I'm so glad you are enjoying the process as much as I am.

**★★★★★ — denise wagner, Dec. 2019**

> Melissa Pollack is amazing. She took what would have been an overwhelming, daunting and probably defeating project, large in scope, and turned it into an exciting, fun filled and enjoyable process that ultimately produced a result better than could have been imagined. Melissa took care of everything. We had a 50 year old house that needed to be stripped to the studs and the results are amazing. Melissa guided us on everything from flooring, to wall placement, to the design and complete decoration of two new bathrooms, three rebuilt bedrooms, to furniture styles, lighting layouts, colors, fabrics, - and thousands of other decisions, small and large. Moreover, Melissa served as a quasi-general contractor and coordinated with our contractor, with plumbers, electricians and even helped us find skilled craftspeople when needed. Luck was on our side when we met Melissa and I cannot imagine every finding anyone else who could have entered our lives and helped us as she has done. I only hesitate to recommend Melissa because I do not want her to become so busy with other clients that she has less time for us. You can never go wrong working with Melissa and Bespoke Decor.

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> Thank you for such an overwhelmingly positive review. The feeling is mutual. It's not every day that one finds such gracious, open-minded, easygoing clients. The project had its share of delays, setbacks, and surprises requiring design alteration, but you always took it in stride. I, too, am elated with how this phase turned out, and can't wait to transform the rest of the house when you're ready. It will truly be a family gathering place ready for the next generation. And never fear - I will always make time for you! :)

**★★★★★ — Nan Stolzenburg, Sept. 2019**

> Melissa was creative and brought fresh ideas to our decoration but listened carefully to mesh her ideas with our goals. She did a great job helping us pick paint colors and created a detailed list ready for us and the painters. I continue to rely on her as we move beyond paint to picking other colors and furniture. Lots of really good ideas and we look forward to continuing work with her on other home decor projects.

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> Thanks, Nan. I'm elated that you get joy from the color palette we chose. I, too, look forward to our continued work refreshing your house.

**★★★★★ — Nancy Gosh, Dec. 2018**

> Melissa's guidance and direction are invaluable. I'm a DIYer, single Mom, Homeowner...I contacted Melissa through Houzz when I was stressing out over all the color possibilities and the cost/time of not being happy with it, etc. I knew where I wanted to go and had no idea how to get there. I have a dated Mid-Century Modern home that I wanted to be true to the architecture without "looking like a time warp back to the 60s". Melissa is giving me the direction and suggestions I need while being conscientious of my budget. Melissa is very responsive to being contacted, and was always on-time. Contacting her was the best choice I made in this project. I am not completely finished and want to be true to Melissa with the finished look....I will add photos when complete.

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> I'm glad we landed on just the right colors for your house. It's always helpful when clients know where they want to end up, even if they don't know how to get there. Working with you is a pleasure. Can't wait to see it once it all comes together!

**★★★★★ — amy silberstein, Dec. 2018**

> Melissa was great to work with. She made the process so easy, fun and took all the stress out. She has a great eye for color and design. I am so glad we are working with her.

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> Thanks Amy, it's been a pleasure working with you. I can't wait to see how everything looks once it's painted.

**★★★★ — HU-286543947, Nov. 2018**

> Melissa was a delight to work with and very professional. She squeezed me into her busy schedule on short notice. Her approach to and knowledge of paint was amazing. I would recommend her

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> Thank you! I know it was (and still is) a stressful time, putting your home back together. I'm glad I could be of help.

**★★★★ — Kelly Harrison Country Life Real Estate, Nov. 2018**

> I've worked directly with Melissa at Bespoke twice. First when we built our new office for our brand new business at Country Life Real Estate. With a blank slate we were completely lost with what to do with it. Melissa came in and did a color palette for us that was not only exactly right, but we would never have put it together in such a great way ourselves and we get compliments every time someone walks through the door.
>
> This inspired me to hire Melissa personally to come and help me at my home. To say it was another success is putting it mildly. Using Melissa's suggested color palette transformed my home!

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> It was a pleasure working with you on both projects, Kelly. I'm elated that you enjoy the colors we chose for both work and home.

**★★★★★ — Linnea VanTassel, Nov. 2018**

> Melissa was key in helping our real estate company, clean out and stage homes in preparation for sale. Melissa’s first staging with us resulted in an accepted offer in one day.
> Melissa also helped us with the color choices for our Real estate office. Everyone who walks into Country Life Real Estate loves the space, energy and look. I would highly recommend Melissa for your design needs.

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> Thank you Linnea for the kind words. It was truly a joy to help you, Kelly and Annie define Country Life Real Estate's workspace. I'm glad you and your clients love it.

**★★★★★ — Joseph Briggs, Nov. 2018**

> Melissa is extremely talented, responsive and efficient. She has exquisite taste, and knows how to bring every space to life with organization, de-cluttering, furnishing and decor. Her ability to visualize spaces for photography, video and showings is invaluable to me (as a Realtor) and my clients. Melissa is efficient, pragmatic, always cheerful, and an absolute joy to work with. Her organization and communications skills are unmatched, and she offers services for a range of budgets, from shabby-chic to luxury.

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> Thanks Joseph! It's always a pleasure to work with you, and to serve your clients as well.

**★★★★★ — Arther Frederick, Dec. 2017**

> In no particular order, Melissa has helped us to redecorate our living room, redecorate our bedroom, and stage our house for sale. In each case she has not only come up with novel ideas that we hadn’t even thought of while being mindful of our budget constraints, but also color combinations that we never considered. She is the sort of professional who will listen to your needs and wants while bringing a fresh viewpoint. It’s more like a blending of your wants with her creativity. Easy to work with and very capable.

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> Thanks! It was a joy to work with you both. I'm thrilled I was able to make your space what you wanted it to be while it was yours. I'm both elated and sad that our staging job was so successful. May this next stage in life be everything you want it to be, but know that your old community misses you.

**★★★★★ — Julie Kabat, Aug. 2017**

> Melissa helped us in multiple ways that went far beyond our expectations! She redesigned my husband's study and closets, found furniture, helped us reupholster a couch and sewed pillows for it, found us a stellar carpenter who built us a new back porch and she found just the right colors to paint its interior and exterior. Melissa is very professional, easy and pleasant to work with, and met all deadlines.

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> Thanks, Julie! It's a pleasure working with you both. I'm thrilled to hear how happy you are with the outcomes of all projects.

**★★★★★ — Chris Solomon, June 2017**

> We wanted to add an office to our home. Thanks to Melissa's creative cost saving suggestions and assistance in envisioning the new space, we not only have a new office but a completely redesigned kitchen. Melissa hooked us up with a contractor that she had worked with in the past who was reputable and did an amazing job.
>
> In addition, her helpful nature prevented more than one domestic dispute. We are more than happy with our new office and kitchen and the guidance that Melissa provided to us.

**★★★★★ — Razzano Homes and Remodelers, Inc., Aug. 2016**

> We have used Melissa and Bespoke Decor for multiple projects of ours. She has always exceeded our expectations, as well as our customer's. She is very good at what she does and is excellent at delivering on time and within budget. We highly recommend her!

**★★★★★ — alcnoangel, Aug. 2016**

> Melissa was a dream to work with. I needed help staging my house for sale. It had been on the market over a year and I needed a change. Her I ideas were not only practical and affordable but everything looked great. She was totally dedicated to the project and made it happen in the time I needed. After staging was complete I received an offer within a month. I would highly recommend Bespoke for your next project. I already have plans to use her at my new residence. Why wait until I sell to fall in love with my space?

**★★★★★ — Wayne Kawadler, Aug. 2016**

> Melissa was professional, thoughtful, smart and incredibly gracious. Its difficult to have someone come into your home, and give professional opinions on your furniture, and tell you what she thinks will help sell and what needs to go. She explained her strategy, thought process...gave a realistic expectation of time needed and cost. Had great ideas. And she accomplished the staging in the time she estimated. I cant recommend her highly enough.

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> Thanks, Wayne. It helped that you had such great taste and great stuff to work with. Best of luck with the listing, and here's to a swift sale!

**★★★★★ — debbyeroth, April 2016**

> Melissa came into my house to help me with a small project- adding some pizzaz to my living room. She quickly assessed my style, and made simple suggestions that were easy to grasp and well within my budget. Together we shopped for fabric using an upholsterer whose work she knew. The result is stunning. Melissa is friendly, open and flexible, a delight to work with.

**★★★★★ — chathome, March 2016**

> Meliisa worked with us on a bedroom and bathroom remodel, We were totally pleased . Not only is she extremely creative with her ideas, she spends a lot of time with you on options and listen carefully to concerns. She suggested the idea of Mexican tiles for our bathroom and helped us pick ones that were just perfect for our small space, Another big plus: She is lots of fun to work with!

**Comment from Bespoke Decor:**

> Thanks! Working with you was a pleasure as well. I'm thrilled that you enjoy the Mexican tile as much as I anticipated.

**★★★★★ — Tom Eustace, March 2016**

> Melissa has a deep understanding of color and light. Her expertise was absolutely critical in achieving a 100% satisfied customer. Melissa is an absolute delight to work with.

**★★★★★ — melntroy2179913, March 2016**

> Bespoke Décor was hired to evaluate my dark, sectioned off house and help make it the stunning, open concept home I have always wanted for my family to grow old in. The entire process with Melissa was smooth, informative, and reliable with communication every day at a minimum. It was refreshing to have someone like Melissa helping to design my project who was professional, attentive, knowledgeable, experienced and very enthusiastic about the job. She was very accommodating when receiving calls or emails from me during the process and always ensured I was satisfied with the work as it progressed.
>
> Melissa also accompanied me to retailers so I could see her recommendations in person rather than just in a photo which was extremely important and valuable.
>
> The advice I received from Bespoke Décor was an invaluable resource that I would recommend to anyone who wants to impact their home whether it is a total renovation or just a slight alteration to have a more welcoming feel to their home. Bespoke Décor is an awesome company to deal with and I am forever grateful for the guidance they provided.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Color scheme for this small apartment kitcheb** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am stuck. I do not how to decorate this kitchen. Am a very farmhouse neutral type of decor person and this kitchen is not that. It's got a very minimalist vibe. It's not bad but without being able to paint the walls or change the counters how can I add a punch of color but keep it from feeling busy/cluttered. I want to keep with the minimalist theme but it is a kitchen for a family. Help!

A: Maybe get a set of cute retro style canisters or a cookie jar to sit on the counter? A colorful vase and fresh flowers always go a long way toward cheering up any space. If you are allowed to hang a curtain rod and like the look of country curtains, you can put up a set to frame the sink window.

**Q: Best light granite for kitchen with cherry** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi there. I am moving into a home with cherry cabinets and looking for a lighter colored granite to brighten the space. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much

A: I would skip granite and opt for quartz. There are many options in shades of white or off-white, and many that look like marble.

**Q: entry foyer light** *(in Design Dilemma)*

open to suggestions for new foyer light!

A: Visit the Rejuvenation website and look for a semi flush mount. They have a number of stylish options that would suit your home.

**Q: Livingroom help :)** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I'm having a tough time with the living space in our new house. (Photo is from listing-we aren't in it yet). There is the back door right in the middle of the far wall which I think is awkward, but not enough to not get the house. I really didn't want to put the tv over the fireplace but I can't stand having two competing focal points in a room. We'll prob end up with it over. Maybe a leaning bookshelf to the right of fireplace and a round mirror over a cabinet on the left side to help with balance. We want to get a sectional so everyone will fit. Do we put it up against the back wall or move it closer to the fireplace and put shelves on that back wall? I don't want to cut the direct line to outside but part of me wants to ignore that door is there and just create a beautiful, cozy space. Thank you in advance!! :)

A: Floating the sectional in the room is always best. You seem to have enough space for a sectional with a path behind the sofa. The "el" part of the sectional should be along the side where the loveseat is now, not blocking the doors. Do you need bookshelves, or can you simply hang artwork and leave the path open? If you want storage, you could buy a low bookcase to run behind the part of the sectional that backs up into the main living space (where the loveseat is now).

**Q: Living Room Furniture** *(in Design Dilemma)*

My husband and I are trying to decorate our new living room. We will be mounting the TV above the fireplace. We are looking for ideas on what color furniture would look the best in this space. The walls are a blue grey color. We have a baby on the way so we don't want to go too light in color. Any suggestions are welcome!

A: Shades of gray, blue-gray or a mid-tone brown would work best for fabric or leather seating. You'd do best to mix, and not match. Your room has traditional features, so wood tables rather than metal seem more appropriate.

**Q: Help! What color!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hello! Trying to figure out colors is killing me! Would love some help. We like light neutrals but our dilemma is that we have to pick a color we really like because it has to go in living room, dining room and hallway all the way up the stairs since it's all connected. It would be too confusing to use different colors. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Using Benjamin Moore! Pictures of room. Thanks!! The existing color was from the old owners.

A: Most of the color suggestions in here are great, so choose whichever you prefer. I'm writing to urge you to repaint your ceilings. The previous owners' ceiling color is far too caustic a white- it's making the wall color look more harsh than it really is. Once you decide on your wall color, look through the Ben Moore whites and find one that is softer on the eyes.
