I received proposals from 4 different companies and met with each of their representatives. During the selection process, my wife and I discussed the various proposals and agreed that we were especially pleased with the Landmark Pool’s representative, Jacob King. His thoroughness in outlining the details and the various steps involved; his suggested recommendations; his assurances regarding the timing of the project, from start to completion, (w/o weather interference) and his hands on knowledge of the processes involved, convinced us that Landmark would be our first choice. We visited a pool in our neighborhood that had recently undergone a major make-over by Landmark Pools, we met and spoke with the homeowners. They were very pleased with their “new” pool, and we liked what we saw. We then agreed to select Landmark Pools for our project. > > PS: On March 10,2023, Jacob told us that the beginning date scheduled for our pool work would be late May or early June and that the estimated completion date would be June 30,2023. We signed the contract with Landmark and work commenced on May 26, and our “new” pool was completed on June 30,2023, right on time. I am very pleased with our “new” pool and am happy to recommend Landmark Pools to anyone considering a Pool Contractor. **★ — James Fitton, June 2023** > Landmark Pools removed my old pool and installed a new one in 2021-2022 for over $100K. The final product was awesome and worth the 16 months it took them to finish the project (after an initial estimate of 12-14 weeks). In March I noticed that I was having to add water to the pool every few days. When the March water bill arrived it showed my water usage had more than doubled. I contacted Landmark in early April to report the possible leak, didn’t hear back. Several days later I contacted them again and was told they would check with the tech and get back, they didn’t. I contacted them the following week and was told the leak detection company would be out the following week (2 weeks after the initial call). The detection guy dove the pool and couldn’t find any leaks. He set up a bucket test to determine the rate of leakage, turned off the pump system and said he’d be back in a couple days. A week later I contacted Landmark to find out what was going on. I was told the detection company couldn’t find the leak so apparently they dropped the issue. I sent them photos of the bucket test showing a 1-inch loss of water per day. On May 1st I called Landmark and asked to speak to the GM about my concerns and frustration. The person I spoke with (Jennifer) was very nice and sympathetic but didn’t let me speak to the GM. The detection company finally came back and said they found the leak in the main drain. Next day, still leaking an inch a day. Over a week later the detection company dove the pool again and claimed the leak was in a light. Next day, down an inch. I called Jennifer again demanding a different leak person. Evan from Landmark came by a couple days later and did his own leak test which confirmed my inch a day claim. After two dives he located the leak in the handrail into the pool and finally got it stopped on May 25th, confirmed by another leak test.. By that time I had 3 months of excessive water bills (over $300 total) and had put more in than 250 pounds of salt in the pool to cover the water loss. On June 7th and 9th (more than 2 months after the initial call) I contacted Landmark to talk to the GM about reimbursement for the expenses. I was denied access to the GM, Bart O’Connell, who refused to even discuss it with me. His refusal to talk just reinforced the attitude I got from everyone at Landmark, except Evan who was great and professional. Needless to say I tell anyone who asks that they can do better and find a pool company that will standby their product and not hide from customers. **★★★★★ — HU-982784110, Oct. 2020** > We love our pool. We’ve been using it for 8 months and couldn’t be happier. Steve did a great job designing a beautiful pool on a small waterfront lot. Requirements were a lap lane, 6’ deep end (we’re tall) and a shallow end. He provided that + a bubbler, which we didn’t know we wanted until we got it and a sun shelf. The cost was in line with other quotes. It took forever to complete, but was well worth the wait. I recently needed an extensive repair to a very wide crack in my marcite pool. Eddie from Landmark came out to make an assessment of what needed to be done for the repair. The nature of the crack required "staples" (sections of rebar cemented to the pool shell) on the inside of the pool shell and also the outside. I had option of refinishing my pool interior, which after 18 years was also needed. We would highly recommend them. > We went through a detailed selection process for a pool company that would renovate our fifteen year old 1260 sq. ft. pool and lanai. We only contacted companies that had a BBB rating of A+, been in business for at least five years and no complaints for 3yrs. We ended up with a short list of eleven companies. Some excluded themselves as they did not cover our area. Of the remaining eight some were high profile names in the Tampa Bay area. One in the Oldsmar area we visited their office/showroom, spoke to their managers and completed a detailed list for them to call us and we never received a call. We invited all of the short list companies to come and quote us and some requested details ahead of the quote. If they did they were sent the original pool and lanai plan with measurements and current photographs. Only Landmark and two others followed through on our request for a quote with an actual visit. We excluded all companies that did not follow through on the request for a quote. Eddie Fernandez from Landmark came when he said he would, was detailed in his assessment and gave us a detailed quote that was understandable and within forty eight hours. At this point we had decided we wanted Pebble Tec and Artistic Pavers. Neither of the other two companies routinely did both of these but could at an increased cost. We therefore went with Landmark. Throughout the selection process Eddie and the office staff were responsive and patient with us, including letting us take home samples of paver and Pebble Tec samples to match with our house colors. They were always available for questions and gently counselled us. We signed the contract and agreed a start date. There was a delay of a day but we were contacted and told in advance. That was not the experience we had with the original builders who we had already excluded from our selection. Eddie had explained the sequence of work and when it would start. Generally that was honored throughout the project with the exception of when weather interrupted work. Then we received a call from Eddie to tell us why there was a slight delay and when the team would restart. Like all pool companies Landmark used subcontractors. All of the subcontractors were professional, courteous and as careful of our property as they could be considering the magnitude and size of the renovation. Premier Brick Pavers Inc., in particular were excellent in that they sent out a senior staff member to check the work and make sure we were happy. There were a few sub-contractor punch list issues that needed attention. Eddie and the office staff ensured the subcontractors completed their issues. Other punch list issues were quickly and effectively completed by Landmarks own staff who were again responsive, professional and courteous. > Our one regret – we wished we had used Landmark to build the pool fifteen years ago.
