His vast LED experience in both residential and commercial design, coupled with an encyclopaedic understanding of houses in general, gave us full confidence to invest through him in this ever-evolving and energy-sustainable technology. He researched and adapted lighting options to our unique situation (2-foot thick stone walls, unforgiving ceilings) and explained every one of his recommendations for fixtures and design - both interior and exterior - in highly professional, but refreshingly understandable, terms. Our interiors have since come alive; and the LED-lit driveway, with its line of trees, is a show-stopper! His quotes and installation times were both accurate and competitive, and we thoroughly enjoyed his humour and patience throughout. If not, will it take an LED bulb?** *(in Photo Questions)* Where can it be purchased? A: I can't tell from the picture, its too far away. However, there are LED replacement lamps for most common bulbs. The new warm white 2700k-3000k color temperature lamps are almost impossible to tell from incandescent. Plus you will easily save 80% on power consumption not to mention replacement costs. **Q: Can I use LED bulbs in this light fixture and do they make LED bulbs f** *(in Product Questions)* A: Yes, It will take a medium base. Philips, Sylvania, TCP and many others will make an LED lamp for this. **Q: LED lights (Yes or No)** *(in Polls)* Building a new home. I'm having a tough time deciding if I should put in the extra money and do LEDs in the house, particularly on the main floor. I have read a lot of articles including a great one here on house, but there are so many different options and inputs. Thought I'de go to the polls and see where it goes. Would you do LED in your new home? A: Yes, and I would consult with a local LED pro. A lot of electricians don't have the LED knowledge that you may need. Some of it is easy, but sometimes it can be complicated depending on your particular situation. Make sure you get the highest lumen output you can for the strips if you go this route. **Q: I need help choosing LED retrofit 5" 6" recessed lights** *(in Design Dilemma)* If lighting bores you, stop right now because it's going to get worse.... We have old housing for 6" can lights. I am looking to replace them with 5" 6" LED recessed lights for a cleaner look. However after visiting a local lighting store and finding the Halo LED Retrofit Baffle and Trim by Cooper Lighting for $80 a pop, I began my online search. I've found several with the same specifics: 2700K, 90CRI that are half the price. I do not want lighting that is blue or blazingly bright. There are 7 in our kitchen. Is there a difference between the $80 fixture and the Home Depot/Lowes fixtures? A: I'd use the Cooper lights over the store brand. I sell a lot of Cooper LED lights and they are a very well built, reliable product with excellent support. Of the thousands of Cooper pot lights I have sold I have only ever had one bad batch which all came from the same production run. They replaced them without question. **Q: kitchen lighting: recessed LED cans vs led bulbs in old style cans?** *(in Design Dilemma)* in a kitchen remodel, what are the reasons to entirely re-wire for JUNO LED recessed cans (cost about $200 apiece, versus using LED bulbs in conventional cans (cost about $30 plus $10 bulb? A: $200 for an LED retrofit and can is really expensive. You can get a quality Cooper LED engine for around $70 CAD and a Halo can for less than $20. Or you could use Lotus LED which do not require a can at all.
