> I worked with Kinnahan Contracting to build our home a few years ago.  Our effort was fairly comprehensive as we started with raw land (no previous engineering work), and we wanted to ultimately design our own home.  When looking at other builders, I quickly saw that none fit quite right - they were either far too expensive, or they were not at all open to an owner's personal involvement or input.  I have to say that working with Mike Kinnahan was perfect for us.  Mike's experience and expertise helped us successfully navigate every aspect of our effort including site planning, custom house design, permitting, and all construction work.  I especially liked that Mike welcomes the homeowner's involvement and allows his customers to be involved as much (or as little) as they choose to be.  As much as I wanted to build a home, I simply didn't have the experience.  Mike patiently answered my million questions, and he could anticipate issues ahead of time.  On top of this, Mike is a consummate professional, and unlike many contractors, he is always responsive.  I highly recommend Kinnahan Contracting, and they will be my first choice for future work.

> 10 years ago,  when our original project manager left us in the lurch,  Mike rescued our renovation project.  At our request, he let us do as much as we wished of our own job contracting, but was always at hand with whatever help we needed.  This arrangement saved us a lot of money, but, more importantly, gave us a deeper sense of ownership and creativity of the final result than if this had been a conventional turn-key arrangement.  Mike is easy to work with, always accessible, and a reliable source of information about everything from sub-contracter choices to varieties of toilets.  We felt he formed a permanent partnership with us which still rely on today when we need help with home maintenance challenges.  We couldn't have been happier with our choice.

> Mike was our construction manager during our house teardown and rebuild from 2009-2010.  Mike said it would only take one year and he delivered!  Mike provided excellent contractors for us to choose from and the only time we had issues was when we didn’t follow his advice.  Mike is very experienced and had all the right answers to the difficult questions.

Hiring Mike as our construction manager as opposed to our general contractor meant that we were responsible for negotiating the contracts with the various sub-contractors that Mike supplied.  This is the way we wanted it and it worked really well because Mike was with us every step of the way.  His advice was priceless.  We have been in our house 5.5 years and have had no issues.  The ultimate compliment that one can give to a builder is that you would use them again.  We would definitely hire Mike again and could not recommend him more highly.
