**Q: Question on transition from carpet to tile** *(in Remodeling)*

Hi all,
I'm renovating my basement and am about to lay the subfloor.  I'm tiling one room and carpeting the other, the question I have is regarding the finished height between the two.  If I lay the subfloor at the same height between the two spaces and the tile is roughly 1/2" (3/8" plus 1/8" for thinset), will a finished carpet/pad height of roughly 1" be too high?  Will there be a pronounced "hump" in the carpet, or will the carpet tuck nicely into the transition strip with no issue?  
The reason I ask is I'm trying to avoid bringing the subfloor of the tiled space up to make up the height difference.  I'd rather have the subfloor height be consistent arcoss the finished space if possible.

**Q: Glass tile** *(in Remodeling)*

Hello all
I had a new tile shower installed as part of a whole master bath renovation.  Overall, I think the shower looks great.  Only issue I noticed is with the glass tile accent.  When looking at it straight on, it looks great.  However when viewed from any angle, you can see through the edge of the glass tiles and see the notched thinset.  Hard to describe so see the two views below.  Is this just normal with glass tile or is there something they should have done differently?  I guess there's really no way to fix it....easily.

A: Any glass that isn't glazed on the backs needs to be back buttered, some need the cuts addressed in the same manner. Appliance touch up works for that, depending on what the glass color is.
