I contacted four different paint contractors that offered their services and made bids from $4,000.00 to $20.000.00. Jack's Ever Green came with a discounted winter bid of around 8k but more than anything they gave the most professional and trustworthy advice with how to handle the job. They worked with myself and my wife, who have been committed to not change any of Reichert's original design, ending up being shown three different acryiic paints; one full gloss, another partial gloss and a third bringing us samples to evaluate that had to replace the oil based paint. After much coaching and much fretting by myself, who changed his mind daily, ultimately we found the Acrylic paint that did indeed shimmer as the original oil paint did. The work took nearly a week starting with taping up the marble steps and then putting a Tent around the stairwell to use the sprayer. The features of the stairwell demanded in small increments in hard to find places brush work but the spray did exactly what it needed to do which was to not have any brush strokes showing through the paint. This was a masterful painting job and the professionals of Jack's Ever Green Painting with patience and care succeeded in replicating this portion of the Reichert house. Here are some pictures of the work they did on the stairwell and door of our Home. This is a institution that is caring and fair. Then we found out my husband had to travel during the work and then I started having pregnancy complications. I tried to convince myself I could still do it. It all became too much I called Andrey literally one day before the work was supposed to begin and tearfully told him I couldn't do it. He said, "No worries, the last thing you need right now is this. I'll let my team know and you be in touch when you and your family are ready." I rescheduled a couple of months after the baby was born. They gave us the same bid and even helped out with some large furniture. Jack's crew came in, repaired/patched the holes in the walls, and did an amazing job of painting the walls and ceilings. Andrey (gen mgr who is so great to deal with) came for a consult and was able to help me select a low sheen for my house since I have young children and I am thankful everyday for it. For my cabinets, the paint job was also beautiful. Required a few touch-ups, but Andrey has been great about making those happen. In addition, I could not make up my mind about the cabinet color and the guys were great about spraying two different doors the two different colors I was considering and bringing them by so I could make up my mind before all of the cabinets were painted.
