> Hiring Niche & Nova has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I’ve ever encountered. I contracted them to build a deck and pergola for $12,000, which I paid in full and on time. What was supposed to be a straightforward project has turned into a nightmare that has dragged on for over 12 weeks with little progress to show for it.
>
> From the start, the contractor has been disorganized, unprofessional, and deceitful. They repeatedly underestimated the project, asking for extensions and excuses about needing to take on other jobs to afford materials for mine. Despite agreeing to a refund or completion deadline, they have failed to meet it and are now demanding more money from me to finish the job — on a project that has already been grossly delayed and underdelivered. This comes after repeatedly being promised that they would honor our agreement and complete the project on-time.
>
> The pergola portion of the project is only about 25% complete, yet they’re trying to refund me far less than what is owed. They claim they’ll issue a refund within seven days but have already reduced that amount egregiously, which doesn’t even align with the work completed or the agreed terms.
>
> The pergola is left in an absolute mess. There are unpainted posts, incomplete headers, and materials thrown about my yard. They haven’t cleaned up after themselves, and the job site is a disaster zone.
>
> The lack of accountability and respect for their clients is appalling. If you’re considering working with this contractor, save yourself the time, money, and frustration — find someone else who values their customers and honors their agreements.

**Comment from Niche & Nova Home Services, LLC:**

> We’re sorry to hear about this client’s dissatisfaction. At Niche & Nova Home Services, we prioritize transparency and quality in every project. While we respect the client’s perspective, there are additional details that provide a fuller picture.
>
> This project was unique due to a prior personal relationship with the client, which may have influenced their review. The deck was fully completed, and the pergola reached 25% progress. Challenges arose when material costs exceeded budget, and despite offering solutions—including a discounted change order, a refund, or an extended timeline—none were accepted. The refund amount mentioned was from earlier discussions, and a settlement offer was later proposed and agreed to by the client, though they rejected the proposed method of payment via mailed check.
>
> The client’s strict time cutoff prevented us from completing final site cleanup, which would have been addressed with a few more hours. We regret this and remain open to resolving the situation amicably.
>
> We encourage potential clients to explore the many positive reviews we’ve received from others who have allowed us to see their projects through to completion. Our commitment to delivering quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction is reflected in our portfolio and relationships with other clients. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly.
>
> Sincerely,
> Jacob Burnett
