> I originally hired R Squared Architecture and Planning’s Nathaniel Rotta to help design an extensive remodel and addition to an existing house. I purchased the property for the almost flat 3 acre parcel, not for the abandoned house that was in very bad condition.  Nathaniel met me on site and we discussed my vision. He had lots of creative ideas and i really liked his suggestions. His plans were so creative that it made me feel ok about remodeling a very ugly house, but when I found out what it would cost to remodel the old house, I decided it was too great a risk to do the remodel, not knowing what hidden problems we might find. Once the decision was made to build a new house, I sent Nathaniel a photo of a house that I liked the look of. It was impressive how quickly Nathaniel created a new floor plan only working from that picture and the information he had gleaned from our talks about what I wanted.  I don’t know how many people could do that so well and quickly! Throughout the process, Nathaniel has been very communicative and answers any questions I have almost immediately. Once the plans were finished, he submitted them to Clackamas County (Oregon) and we had a building permit in only 3 weeks, at least 3 weeks earlier than expected. The county also, only asked for a few minor additions to the plans which Nathaniel handled immediately. The project is only beginning this week, so I can’t speak to how it will turn out. I can say that if you want a creative, communicative and reasonable architect, I highly recommend Nathaniel (R Squared Architecture and Planning)
