- [Kitchen Cabinet Repainting](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/kitchen-cabinet-repainting-pj-vj~4444151)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 6
  - Description: I can’t wait to show you this kitchen! This whole house was all part of an interior design job that I’ve been working on over the past few months. The kitchen was already pretty! The cabinets had a timeless style and the counters are beautiful! They just wanted to update it from the beige, chippy finish. We painted the cabinets Stonington Gray (HC-170) by Benjamin Moore and the island Amherst Gray (HC-167) by Benjamin Moore. Then we sealed it with a protective clear coat. We also changed out the…
- [Gray Mid Century Modern Dresser with Patchwork Design](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/gray-mid-century-modern-dresser-with-patchwork-design-pj-vj~4285037)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 5
  - Description: This week’s furniture makeover is for a mid century buffet makeover. We painted the box Chelsea Gray by Benjamin Moore, left the doors in the original finish, and stained the drawers with a white wash, light gray wash, and dark gray wash. We also added feet to get it off the ground a bit! I loved the contrast and thought the doors were so beautiful!
- [Singer Sewing Machine Repurposed Into a Bathroom Sink](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/singer-sewing-machine-repurposed-into-a-bathroom-sink-pj-vj~4284991)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 6
  - Description: This week’s makeover is from something you’ve probably seen before if you’ve been to a flee market. It’s an antique Singer sewing machine! We wanted to turn it into a sink to sell in the store. So we refinished the wood and sealed it with a Waterlox tung oil. Then John installed the sink bowl on top which I LOVE. It even has a built in faucet. So adorable!!
- [Burnt Orange Mid Century Dresser](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/burnt-orange-mid-century-dresser-pj-vj~4284943)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 5
  - Description: One of the projects we finished up last week was this beautiful mid century dresser made by Dixie furniture. It’s been giving a whole new look with burnt orange paint on the box and refinished drawer fronts. It has dovetail drawers and has been sprayed with a protective clear coat, too. I don’t have the name of the orange because we did a custom mix to get this color.
- [Gorgeous Kitchen Makeover](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/gorgeous-kitchen-makeover-pj-vj~3136911)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 5
  - Description: I am beyond excited, to share one of my all time favorite kitchen makeovers with you! When our client sent me a picture of her kitchen for a quote on getting her cabinets painted, my first thought was… wow this is already a pretty kitchen, but painting the cabinets will knock it out of the park! What I love most about this makeover is that we change nothing but the color of the cabinets. It has the same counters, backsplash, sink, island, and hardware. We painted the whole kitchen with Benjamin…
- [Orange Mid Century Credenza](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/orange-mid-century-credenza-pj-vj~4284708)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 5
  - Description: I loved how this piece had a door with storage behind it and the drawers. That makes it useful in so many spaces. It could be a dresser, entertainment center or even a buffet. We painted the box and door electric orange by Benjamin Moore, but refinished the drawers in a darker, warmer brown. I loved the contrast and thought the doors were so beautiful!
- [Repurposed Antique Buffet Into Kitchen Island](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/repurposed-antique-buffet-into-kitchen-island-pj-vj~4284878)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 6
  - Description: I can’t wait to show this transformation to you! I’ve been wanting to do one of these pieces for our store. We took this beautiful antique buffet:We wanted to transform it into a kitchen island! So, John ripped the top off and built a custom oak top that was a hard wood and could handle the abuse of kitchen use. Most buffets have just thin backer board on the back so we added shiplap on the back for visual interest and added supports off the back to hold the extended oak top. That created seatin…
- [Making an Ugly Dresser Modern](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/making-an-ugly-dresser-modern-pj-vj~4284788)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 6
  - Description: I can’t wait to share this week’s furniture makeover. When I saw this dresser, I loved how ugly it was because I knew how pretty I could make it. It had the right lines and the high end quality I wanted. We painted the box Simply White by Benjamin More, added hardware (which it so badly needed), attached chrome legs, and made the herringbone pattern on the doors the focal point by staining it with a gray stain; which I LOVE!
- [Gray French Provincial Dresser](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/gray-french-provincial-dresser-pj-vj~4284620)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 5
  - Description: I bought this french provincial dresser a month or so ago and I basically fell in love with it. The lines, the fancy, and that mirror. You stop that, pretty mirror!I was to torn about what color I should paint it! I went back and forth between so many colors and then finally decided to let our Facebook and Instagram fans choose the color for it! What color did they pick?? Stonington Gray by Benjamin Moore
- [Teal Dresser Makeover](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/teal-dresser-makeover-pj-vj~4284393)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 5
  - Description: For this week’s makeover, I wanted to show you a dresser that needed some love. It was that typical dark wood with not my favorite hardware! We painted it using Valspar’s color Vintage Teal. We also added new hardware, glazed it and sprayed it with a protective clear coat.
- [Black Buffet](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/black-buffet-pj-vj~3136897)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 4
  - Description: This week’s furniture makeover is of a piece that’s actually in our store for sale. We painted it using Benjamin Moore’s color Black. If you’d like to see how we paint furniture, check out our How to Paint Furniture post. After we painted it, we sprayed it with a protective clear coat. New hardware always helps, too. Am I right?
- [Barn Board Dresser](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/barn-board-dresser-pj-vj~3136935)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 5
  - Description: This old dresser was desperately in need of some help! We ripped the fronts of the drawer faces off and added barn board to the front with all new hardware. We painted it Simply White by Benjamin Moore. Such an amazing transformation, right? This dresser is for sale or you can check out other new furniture for sale on our website or let us know if you could use some help with decorating.
- [Barn Door Buffet](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/barn-door-buffet-pj-vj~3128728)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 5
  - Description: I’m so excited to share this week’s makeover because I think you’ll barely recognize the before and after!I took a long, time to think about the design. Should I go modern, rustic?? Do I keep the doors? Add new hardware? So many options with a piece like this because it’s such a basic design. After much deliberation, I decided that I wanted the middle door off to add cute boxes and more interest to the piece. Also, I wanted to add the X’s on the doors to make it look like two barn doors. Adorabl…
- [From an Old to a New White Kitchen](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/from-an-old-to-a-new-white-kitchen-pj-vj~2940876)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 7
  - Description: I want to show you a recent kitchen cabinet job that we finished. Not that the kitchen cabinets were the biggest part of the transformation, but I still thought you’d enjoy the before and after. It’s hard to tell in the before pictures but the white cabinets were more of a creamy white and in need of an update. We painted the whole kitchen with Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace and sealed it with a satin clear coat. We're so happy with the results and so was our clients.
- [Rustic Bohemian Vanity](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/rustic-bohemian-vanity-pj-vj~2940860)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 5
  - Description: I wanted to show you how we redid the vanity that was for sale at the show. Now…. this isn’t everyone’s style but it’s a hand painted finish that I have been studying for years now and really love the look of. It’s more like using furniture as a canvas instead of a typical paint job. You may even like the vanity more in its original state.I did a drippy, distressed finish. Then sprayed everything with a protective clear coat and added new hardware of course!
- [Perspecta by Kent Coffey Dresser Set Makeover](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/perspecta-by-kent-coffey-dresser-set-makeover-pj-vj~2859953)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 6
  - Description: For this week’s furniture makeover, I wanted to share a mid century set that we just finished up! They were actually in need of some veneer repair and sanding, but overall good structurally so I knew they were worth saving. These were both made by Perspecta by Kent Coffey with dovetail drawers. We painted the boxes with a Black enamel and then stained the drawers with a whitewash, gray wash, and black. After painting, I sanded the drawers to give it a more distressed look! These pieces are availab…
- [Gray Hutch](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/gray-hutch-pj-vj~2859943)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 5
  - Description: For this week’s before and after, I wanted to show you a hutch that we just finished! We painted it using Benjamin Moore’s color Silver Fox. After we painted it, we distressed it lightly and sprayed it with a protective clear coat. New hardware always helps. These pieces are available online and in our store now.
- [Kitchen Remodel](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/kitchen-remodel-pj-vj~2830746)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 10
  - Description: Here’s a kitchen that we redid in July! We painted the cabinets Coventry Gray by Benjamin Moore. We also added new gold hardware, installed subway tile, installed this beautiful black forest honed granite counter, and we covered the ceiling joist with rough cut wood to make it a focal point instead of an eye sore. Another great idea for an awkwardly empty spot in your kitchen? Add a shelf for more display and storage.
- [My Kitchen Remodel](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/my-kitchen-remodel-pj-vj~2830766)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 10
  - Description: This week, I wanted to show you before and after pictures of our kitchen makeover. We’ve been wanting to redo the kitchen for awhile but we had other projects that needed to be done first so this one waited two years.t wasn’t that our kitchen was horrible, but it definitely didn’t reflect our style or show the work we could do so we decided to give it a face lift. We painted all the cabinets Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore, had new counters installed, and John installed the subway tile, shiplap…
- [Sage Distressed Cabinet](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/sage-distressed-cabinet-pj-vj~2830752)
  - Location: Troy, NY
  - Photos: 4
  - Description: One of our customers reached out to us about redoing a couple of furniture pieces for her. She wanted it to be a soft sage color and heavily distressed. It had a lot of chipping so we had to repair that and then painted it black so that when it was distressed it would look dark everywhere (even where the damage was repaired). Then we went with Benjamin Moore’s Rosemary Sprig color, heavily distressed it and then sprayed it with a protective clear coat.
