RESOLUTION: 4 ARCHITECTURE is an internationally published and highly acclaimed full-service architecture firm.

Founded in 1990 by Joseph Tanney and Robert Luntz, RESOLUTION: 4 ARCHITECTURE (RES4) is recognized for reigniting the discipline’s pursuit of prefabrication with their development of THE MODERN MODULAR, a systematic design methodology that leverages existing prefabrication methods to produce custom modern homes, specific to each client and site.

In 2003, RES4 won an international design competition for a modern prefabricated home: The Dwell Home. It was noted by the Washington Post as the “highest profile modern prefabricated home in America,” and is considered the “Holy Grail” for modern prefab enthusiasts by the Wall Street Journal. The Dwell Home reignited enthusiasm for the promise of prefab in America and abroad.

In addition to having been profiled in newspapers nationwide, RES4’s work has been featured in architectural journals such as Architecture, Architectural Record, Architectural Digest, Architectural Review, Residential Architect, Domus, LARCA, and Interni; design magazines such as Wallpaper, Metropolitan Home, House and Garden, Azure, Interior Design, and Dwell; popular magazines, such as Time, Newsweek, WIRED, and Food and Wine; and media such as CNN, HGTV, DIY, NPR, Nightline, The Travel Channel, and The CBS Morning News.

In 2013, Princeton Architectural Press published Modern Modular: The Prefab Houses of Resolution: 4 Architecture, featuring a select number of projects built over ten years of research and development.

RES4’s work has been exhibited in various museums, including the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, and MoMA in New York City.

In addition to being awarded multiple AIA Design Awards for various projects, THE MODERN MODULAR has received an American Architecture Award, a National AIA Housing Award for Concepts in Innovative Housing, and an Honor Award for Housing Design Research from the Boston Society of Architects and the AIA New York Chapter.

RESOLUTION: 4 ARCHITECTURE is considered one of the most prolific prefab architects practicing today, not only impacting advances within the profession, but also academic research into new methods of integrated design and prefabrication.

> Founded in 1990, Resolution: 4 Architecture is a NYC based architecture firm that completes projects in the residential, commercial, and public realms.

> We had this really unusual and beautiful piece of land in Ct. Nothing on it, no electricity, no water, no driveway even.
> We looked up and spoke with architects but decided to work with Joe Tanney and Rob Luntz at Resolution: 4 Architecture. First of all, we loved the idea of pre-fab and then, when we talked to Joe and Rob we were immediately smitten. The decision was so easy - Joe is just a font of ideas, they come to him like breathing - he just had all the qualities for someone we wanted to work with. He is an amazing listener, he got our aesthetic right away, he is non-stop with ideas and I think his brain works in 3-D and so he fine tunes things and pays attention to details of living and every day life in an awesome way. We had a lot of curve balls thrown at us from the town and because of the way the property was situated and just because of nature - but if we ever needed a boost of confidence to keep moving forward, Joe always gave great advice and handled all problems in such a wonderful, seamless way. We still marvel at how perfectly the house was placed for the sun and the birds and and the trees and for our privacy and comfort and for entertaining friends, too.

> There are few words to describe the fantastic partnership that I had working with Resolution: 4 Architecture, on the renovation of our duplex loft in NYC's Union Square. I enjoyed a wonderful creative collaboration with Joe Tanney on the design of the space. I experience was a perfect balance of Res:4 generating + designing great ideas, combined with a willingness to both listen and closely work with me (as a designer, I had a clear vision for the home I wanted for my family - and there was always a pragmatic lens on ideas when it came to timing + costs. The weekly meetings and site visits were a pleasure (this is also thanks to our contractors, West Village Contracting, who were equally great), and the loft is amazing. If you are thinking about renovating your space or building a home from scratch, I would do yourself a favor and get in touch with Joe and Rob, the principals at Res:4.

> Joe, Rob, and their team at Res4 were great to work with designing and building our house, the Peconic Bay House on Long Island. From mornings at their worktable going over the design to site visits on our land and in the factory, they were attentive, professional, always listening and responding. Together we built a unique and beautiful green home. I hope we can work together again someday.

> We are the owners of the fantastic house! In our search for home outside the city, being big Dwell lovers we contacted Res4. After our first meeting we know we had to make our house with them! Joe and Rob are passionate about architecture and design and were able to partner with us to come up with the perfect house for us away from the city. We are both designer and had specific ideas about what we wanted and they were able to collaborate, guide, and facilitate our dreams throughout the whole process.
>
> We now rent the house out part time on Homeaway.com. (See link below) Hopefully you can come stay. We have hosted several Res4 clients so they can experience their work upfront. The photos don't do it justice.

> working with joe and rob of re4a was a pleasure--fun!- from beginning to end. they listened and delivered exactly what we needed and we LOVE our house. they bleeded form and function beautifully and integrated the inside and outside so that light and air abounds. the breezes are captured making AC rarely necessary.. Oun pleasure is always enhanced when we share our home with others who always seem to appreciate it as much we do.

**★★★★★ — West Village GC, Nov. 2014**

> As a contractor in NYC for almost 15 years I have worked with many architecture and design firms. Very few deliver as complete a product as Res 4. Elegant and cohesive design is just the beginning, accurate and complete design drawings and specifications streamline the build process immensely for the client and contractor. Accurate plans and specifications make for accurate timeline projections, costs and finish dates, which everyone likes. Joe Tanney and Rob Luntz run a tight ship and its a pleasure to serve them an their clients.
