**★★★★★ — Infratech Comfort Heaters, April 2019**

> Tim Barber’s team of 20 are masters at collaborating with their clients on custom traditional and contemporary family homes. We love how they create forever-homes with individualized, lasting outdoor living spaces. We look forward to collaborating on more projects in the future!

**★★★★★ — Kym Rodger Design, Feb. 2014**

> We recently worked with Tim Barber Ltd. on the design for a large scale remodel. At every stage, Tim and his team exceeded our expectations with their skill and professionalism, and were an absolute pleasure to collaborate with. TBL proposed thoughtful and practical design solutions that offered our clients the elegant yet intimate family home they were looking for. They drew on their extensive knowledge and experience to provide realistic assessments of potential costs, time frames, and challenges, as well as propose creative solutions. We are looking forward to working with them again, and would not hesitate to recommend them to our clients.

**★★★★★ — Crogan Inlay Floors, Aug. 2013**

> I have worked for Tim Barbor and his company off and on for over 15 years. He hosts a clientele that is bar none. Tim has the highest standard of craftsmanship and detail I have ever come across. His sources are the best. He is always calm and collected in every situation, Having both architect and interior designer in one person avoids so many miscommunications which can end up costing a fortune. I have the utmost respect for him. The contractors he uses are magnificent from start to finish. Every project I have completed with him throughout the years has been faultless. I would highly recommend working with him or for him.

> Tim and his team are nothing short of amazing. I have a 1914 Craftsman which felt old and dated. They were able to make my house feel modern and contemporary while still being true to the feel of the house. They were patient and explained each step of the process to me. Tim has excellent "bedside" manner throughout the construction process and is great and troubleshooting problems and solutions. Everything with him was done on time, on budget and in a professional manner.
>
> The best part of the whole process is he made my house immediately feel like a "home." He listened to what I wanted, processed it, and elevated it to a level beyond my expectations. He was also patient with me as I went through the design and renovation process for the first time and I was unsure of what I wanted. He listened and helped me weigh the pros and cons of various ideas.
>
> When people visit my home having seen the miraculous transiition from before to after they always ask for the name of my architect which is tribute to the great work he did. I couldn't imagine doing another house project without Tim and his team!

**★★★★★ — C D, May 2012**

> Tim Barber and his team worked on our remodel from start to finish. They did an excellent job. They are extremely detail oriented and thorough.

**★★★★★ — rms1999, May 2012**

> Tim and his team are fantastic. We'd admired several homes in Beverly Hills and BHPO and discovered after-the-fact that the common thread was that Tim Barber was the architect on them. So we asked him to consult with us on a possible remodel. We soon realized that the better approach was to start from scratch with a completely new house.
>
> Tim's approach and design was everything we'd aspired to. He is easy going, tolerant(!), and most important, fantastically creative and inventive. His team knows their stuff. They helped us get what we needed from the planning department. Tim introduced us to several terrific contractors from whom we obtained bids, including the one we hired, who was also great. Tim then turned to the design and execution of the furishings and decor, with others in his firm. The results are spectacular. We get raves from everyone who drives by the house and who comes inside. I would hire Tim and his firm again in an instant. The project came in on time, on buget, and was a masterpiece. We could not have been happier!!!!

**★★★★★ — linda1010, May 2012**

> Working with Tim and his crew- "The Dream Team" as I call them, has been nothing short of amazing! Every aspect of my project, building a LEED certified house from the ground up, has been a pleasure! The attention to detail, professionalism plus a dose of humor has made this experience so enjoyable. I would highly recommend the firm for anyone about to embark on this journey. No matter how big or small your project may be, these guys are right on it and will stop at nothing to make sure it's exactly perfect!

- [Mediterranean Revival Residence](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/mediterranean-revival-residence-pj-vj~7432725)
  - Location: Los Angeles, CA
  - Photos: 28
  - Description: When our homeowners purchased this historic 1921 Mediterranean Revival residence, the building was already under a Mills Act contract. Within this program, the owner receives tax benefits to restore and maintain their historically significant home; and are required to gain City approval for any changes to ensure the integrity of the home is upheld. Our team, in collaboration with interior designer Kristen Panitch and thoughtful homeowners, carefully considered every design choice under this lens…
- [Contemporary Lodge](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/contemporary-lodge-pj-vj~6526094)
  - Location: Santa Monica, CA
  - Photos: 20
  - Description: Challenged by an aged existing structure and mismatched design elements, this home yearned to fit in with the historic properties lining its street: a peaceful avenue nestled by the edge of Santa Monica’s Rustic Canyon. With the homeowners, our firm devised a plan to create a livable, open and capacious oasis. The extensive renovation focused upon capturing spectacular views of the canyon, and ensuring the home’s façade and outdoor space complemented this majestic setting. Unsympathetic exterior…

  - Location: Santa Monica, CA
  - Photos: 28
  - Description: Our studio made historically sympathetic updates and additions to the existing property, which doubled the size of the home. Spaces that existed prior to expansion — which included the dining and living rooms — were renovated, rearranged and/or reinterpreted to ensure seamless transitions between the new and historic functions and design of this landmarked property. The brand-new spaces include a cook’s kitchen with adjoining pantries, a bar, mudroom, family room, library and new rear porch over…

  - Location: Los Angeles, CA
  - Photos: 52
  - Description: When our clients purchased this property, they were awed by the idyllic setting – but not the home’s awkward floor plan, recent spec-developer finishes and relentless hardscape. They commissioned our studio to transform it to an English-style estate with a contemporary, yet classically inspired ethos. Intricate detailing and scenic views now abound throughout the 8,000+ square foot residence, located on an esteemed, secluded avenue in Los Angeles. We went all-out in two directions: expanding fam…

  - Location: Los Angeles, CA

  - Description: This 3,000 sq. ft. residence – in the heart of a dreamy tree-lined street within LA’s Miracle Mile – possessed the convenient walkability our homeowner sought, but lacked the homey allure they craved between world travels. Alongside Tricia Portelli of Scribe Studio, our team was commissioned to reimagine the home, adding light, function, and unequivocal charm. This residence is part of a Historic Preservation Overlay Zone (HPOZ). Our work focused on balancing new design elements with key histori…

## Community Q&A

**Q: what is lot size and sq ft of the house?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the size of the lot and the square footage of the house?

A: Hi Claire, the house is approximately 7,650 SF and the lot is .90 acres.

**Q: This tile is gorgeous? Who is the manufacturer? Thank you.** *(in Photo Questions)*

Interested in knowing who makes the green fireplace tile.

A: Hello @krisman1, the manufacturer of these was Materials Marketing, specifically the Historical Brick (thin) tiles in Newton Green. It appears they may not longer be producing these unfortunately.

**Q: Where are the counters stools from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Really like the counter stools. Are they available to order?

A: Hi @sarahlafave, the interior designer (Reath Design) selected these. They might be able to point you in the right direction!

**Q: hi, where is the bar sink from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

bar sink

A: Hi @msax11, the sink is from Waterworks (Normandy model\# 11-16658-61837 in unlaquered brass). It appears the model number is different since this project was completed, but this looks to be the same one: link here.

**Q: What is the vanity and trim color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Is it Swiss Coffee like you used in other rooms of the house?

A: Hi there, yes, it is! The cabinetry and trim are Swiss Coffee in a semi-gloss, and the ceiling is a flat finish. The drywall (above paneling) is Benjamin Moore's Gray Owl in an eggshell finish.

**Q: Great Wall color** *(in Photo Questions)*

Would you mind sharing which gray this is? Also, what sheen did you select? Thanks so much.

A: Hi Michael, the paint color is Restoration Hardware's Graphite in a semi-gloss. Unfortunately, their paint line has since been discontinued. There are several articles online attempting to match the RH colors with other brands -- like this one. Hope this helps!
