**Q: Backsplash and island counter ideas need** *(in Design Dilemma)*

hi everyone,  please help me find backsplash that would look great with this granite. I dont love this granite, but cant afford to change it.  my kitchen is white (BM Simply White color) and I would like to get a light stone counter on my island (to contrast this dark granite) because this granite is so busy worth beige/orange warm tones, it's hard for me to pick a backsplash tile and island stone. For is white tile.   thank you so much.

A: Cashmere glass tile might work with your counter. or some other glass tile. It  will lighten up the space. Glass tile is here to stay and is going to be the new classic.

**Q: Decorating New Ship Lap Wall** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We just installed this ship lap on our living room wall. It seems like something is missing or I need to change the decor? Any suggestions?

A: The biggest problem is that you have two competing focal points the fireplace and the shiplap wall. If you put shiplap on the remaining walls (around the fireplace) then it would not be a focal point, but a back drop. Doing a collage around the TV to make it look bigger may help with your proportions. Good Luck

**Q: Lake house dilemma** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Any ideas.. Walls, windows, decor? Open concept. Dark wood cabinets in kitchen. Large lake view windows. Low ceilings

A: There are lots of options. To bring it to life economically I would choose a bright backsplash, like robins egg blue, or some other bright color you love. Removing the white cabinet above TV is a really good idea. Remove half wall going up stair case & replace with a beautiful banister.  It will open up the space. Small amounts of space make a big difference. The sofa's are too large. Getting 2 lower & more tailored sofas will preserve your ceiling height.
