### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Turrentine Properties, Inc., Dec. 2020**

> We had an excellent time collaborating with Jay and his team on our latest spec home in Horseshoe Bay. Fabulous work all around!

**★★★★★ — Spiritual Diva Jewelry, Nov. 2019**

> Just an amazing experience. Jay has a very creative way of space utilization. Very professional and reliable. A pleasure to do business with

**★★★★★ — Texas Sun & Shade, April 2018**

> We were contacted by Travis H. to help find a solution for a large sliding door system for one of their designed projects. The system would create a large opening in the master suite that would need optional blackout and insect control for the resident’s comfort. We supplied spec details for the architect to design a built-in pocket that would essentially hide these blackout and insect screens when not in use. No detail was spared by Travis and his team to effectively incorporate these functional products into their designs.
> The home design brought forth by the architect team was incredibly sophisticated with thoughtful consideration of how the structure would situate on, and literally into, the lot in which it was placed. Partnering with Warriner Construction for implementation, the whole project was exquisite. Would enthusiastically recommend working with Jay Corder Architects!

**★★★★ — Teri Taylor, Sept. 2016**

> At the time of our project Jay employed some really fantastic architects. Thorough, thoughtful and receptive, his team designed around our requests, with special attention to the home's historic heritage.

**★★★★★ — Kathryn Drew, July 2016**

> Jay and his team did an excellent job designing a home for a lot we purchased in Central Austin. The floor plan works very well for our family. The home has a contemporary design that is beautiful and inviting. Jay is very personable and he worked well with our builder and interior designer. Our questions and concerns were responded to quickly. My husband and I highly recommend Jay Corder and his incredible team. Jay designs homes that are beautiful, innovative and functional.

**★★★★★ — Stephanie Panozzo, July 2016**

> I have collaborated with Jay Corder Architects on several projects over the years. Jay and his incredibly talented team are committed to design with architectural integrity. His approach with clients is engaging, personable and consistent; as he smoothly navigates them through the process. I would highly recommend Jay, as he has always been on the cutting edge of trends in contemporary architecture.

**★★★★★ — Brian Bares, July 2016**

> Jay and his team have the perfect combination of professionalism, creativity, and client understanding. His designs are works of art, yet possess real-world functionality.

**★★★★★ — Foursquare Builders, July 2016**

> As a Custom Home Builder I feel the most important aspect to delivering an Architecturally significant home is to have a strong working relationship with the Architect and Client. I can say that working with Jay Corder Architect has been a wonderful relationship. Communication is the key to these relationships and Jay and his team are awesome at working through all the complexities of the build. Their design style and sense is grounded in reality and it proves itself in better collaboration with the client and builder during the construction process. On a personal note, I simply like Jay's style of Architecture and design. It's precise, yet warm and inviting to its occupants. We look forward to building more of Jay Corder Architect's designs.

**★★★★★ — Arete European Kitchens, Feb. 2015**

> It is always a privilege to work on a project with Jay Corder. Jay and his talented team are insightful, thorough and consistently committed to delivering absolute perfection. Each project is beautifully executed and uniquely fresh. Clients and professionals are respectfully engaged in the process from beginning to end. Jay Corder Architects is a top firm set apart from the rest and one that continues to inspire and impress.

**★★★★★ — Melde Construction Company, March 2014**

> Melde collaborated with Jay Corder on a new construction project in West/Central Austin,TX. The level of detail and professionalism was only surpassed by the amazing personal attention given to the project. Working with an architecture firm that is creative and innovative is amazing. Working with one that is approachable and team oriented is rare. Jay Corder and his associates embodied all of these. Jennifer Hefner did a spectacular job with relaying all info to us, the builder, in a timely manner and coming up with great in-field ideas on any issues that would arise. We look forward to collaborating with Jay Corder for many years to come.

**★★★★★ — mbhubenak, April 2011**

> Jay Corder is fantastic, great person to work with! He provided us with the perfect plans for a major remodel we did at our home. He has also provided drawings for some of my dated real estate listings which has helped with quick sales. I would highly recommend Jay, he is always up to date on current trends and designs.

**★★★★★ — kennyd, April 2011**

> Jay Corder did an "over-the-top" job on our house in the Pemberton section of Austin. The design is clean, crisp and symmetrical. The house is on a steep lot and Jay designed an amazing backyard which now includes a sportcourt, cabana, pool and lowerd eck. He worked with the existing trees and environment; visually, and with materials, he beautifully connected the interior of the house with the backyard elements. Jay is also a "practical architect", paying attention to cost, durability and construction difficulty. He's "simply the best"!!

Unique Features & Challenges: Use the maximum length and edges of the corner lot to define private rear yard combined with layered courtyards and landscaping on the street front to create noise isolation, view and privacy. - Description: Client Brief: Goals for this young family of four were many. A fully-amenitized residence that allowed for future growth, entertaining and family fun were primary desires. Additionally, this client desired to maintain a high degree of commitment to preserving the soul of the original design of the house. Unique Features and Challenges: The existing structure, built in the 1930’s was historically significant as one of a handful of Spanish Revival homes in the city. The house had been remodeled se…

  - Description: This project is a speculative home on Lake Travis. The Architect is Jay Corder and Builder is Sendero Homes. For the exterior we selected high contrast colors and materials while maintaining a natural palette. On the interior we designed a soft neutral mood that allows the new home owner to bring their own personality through the furnishings.

## Community Q&A

**Q: hi! what is the dark grey siding material?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Would love to know what kind of siding you used for the dark grey area. Is that a vinyl?

A: That is stained 1x6 gap siding. I believe the material was cedar. Hope this helps.

**Q: What is the material of the cabinets** *(in Photo Questions)*

Cabinet material

A: The cabinets are from Leicht. That is a wood veneer finish proprietary to Leicht. Wish I had more info for you! You can contact Arete in Austin, Texas as they sourced, supplied and installed. Best of luck. Thank you for contacting me.

**Q: Love your work! Every detail has been carefully thought out. Thanks** *(in Photo Questions)*

My wife and I are building our home and we have extremely similar taste in materials. Could you let us know what the following items are;
Brick at Fireplace
Kitchen Cabinets - wood species and finish
Thanks in advance!

A: Thanks for writing. The bricks are Belden Brick Black Diamond Velour. The size is either Monarch or Ambassador-can't remember which. The cabinets were from Leicht (sourced by Arete here in Austin) but I do not have the species. Let me know if you need anything else. Good luck.

**Q: gorgeous moody paint** *(in Photo Questions)*

How was the dark paint technique at the top of the stair accomplished? It’s amazing.

A: The finish is in the material itself. That is a natural steel plate that has been clear sealed. The pattern you see is in the material itself. Hope this helps!

**Q: HOw do you mow that strip of grass next to the pool** *(in Photo Questions)*

...without getting the pool full of grass. i have that problem now, even with a 12 inch strip of concrete. thanks!

A: You don't. It's artificial turf! That whole lawn is...the new stuff is really convincing isn't it?

**Q: Railing** *(in Photo Questions)*

Would you share the source of this elegant railing?

A: This railing was custom made locally by the General Contractors fabricator.
