## Community Q&A

**Q: Need advice on paint color for guest room.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Ok I've sampled more then a few paint colors for our small guest room. I'm trying to find the perfect warm tan that isn't too orange. Any suggestions would be much appreciated:) thanks!

A: Maybe what you're looking for is something more in the taupe family.  Try Kelly Moore color "Charro" or "Greystone".  Color really changes depending in the amount of natural light and artificial light.  A warmer tan is Kelly Moore "Spanish Sand". Good luck! :o)

**Q: Need help updating a 90's kitchen!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Ok, so we moved in to this quaint little town home over a year ago, painted and that's it. Yellow was the wrong color for the kitchen! Wondering where to go from here... Color suggestions, countertop/backsplash. Don't want to make the same mistake twice.Thanks!

A: White cabinets leaves your counter top and wall color choices wide open.  I'd suggest deciding on the counter top first, Doesn't look like you have too much counter space so granite, if you're steering in that direction, wouldn't cost you that much. I always let the counter top dictate the color scheme.

**Q: I could use some help sprucing up the outside of our house.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Don't know exactly what it needs, but it has no curb appeal.  (maybe new porch posts or light post.  Won't be starting on it until Spring, but would appreciate any ideas.  Just had a new roof put on, and don't have a big budget left---maybe $1000.

A: In addition to the other ideas mentioned here, I think  the landscaping creates a visual barrier.  The exterior isn't inviting because it's seems closed off.  Consider creating a lighted walk way from the sidewalk to the porch. The entry will be better defined.  Kinda like a "runway" to your front door. :o)
