I started working with Capitol during the design phase of my new construction many months ago and we just finished the last programming tweaks last week and we are fully moved in. I could not be happier with the system and service/attention that Ross, Adam, Katelyn, Daniel and the whole team have given to my wife and I. I chose Capitol over 3 other firms mainly because of the gut feeling and comfort level I had after meeting twice with Adam, and secondarily due to their online reviews and testimonials being very strong. Adam had a wealth of knowledge and was very patient with me during the design process as I learned about the capabilities of the systems and weighed those against my budget. (Sorry again for all the design changes, Adam!) Some of the other companies seemed to be pushing me to their exact cookie cutter system design and, rather than being patient and listening to my questions, it just felt like they were trying to move on to the next customer who may not have so many questions. I was also happy Capitol offered a system monitoring package so I know my security, automation & network systems will be monitored remotely by their team for the life of my system and I always have a direct line to my technician. After spending this amount of money on home technology I wanted to be sure it would operate at an optimal level at all times and their monitoring package allows them to diagnose and repair issues remotely, without having to wait for a technician to come out if an issue ever arises. Adam walked the house with us during construction and recommended the security AV system. Guess what, it doesn't even have a front door video doorbell. It does have a 3 camera security system, but unless I want to go into the closet under the stairs where the monitors are, I have no idea who's at my front door. The first night I was there by myself, the perimeter alarm went off. I cowered in my bedroom, waiting for the police or a phone call. Nothing Turns out, even though I had written an additional $400 check for monitoring, it was UNMONITORED. And I was told that the wind must have set it off. Yes, occasionally the wind will blow, guys. I could go on about all the additional up charges ( you wanted fire detectors in your security system?) but suffice it to say I still don't have working equipment. WE have used the audio / music system probably 10 times because it RARELY works. The TV has gone through multiple phases of inactivity. There is always an excuse and each technician blames the previous one. They have always been polite but rarely respond in a timely manner.
