Jamie's contributions to the design of the space include framing/shaping the curved wall beneath the wooden surfboard bar, framing the slanted orange and off-white walls, and suggesting we re-use some original wood from the entryway in the short wall next to the refrigerator to break up the monolithic off-white wall. He also steered us to the angled powerstrips allowed us to have a solid, outlet-free glass backsplash (look carefully for the powerstips - they're just below the green cabinets). > In addition to his collaboration to the design, Jamie constructed the entire project with true craftsmanship. He took great care in installing everything and - impressive to me - put in reinforcements where he thought they would be needed without even being asked. Everything is square, level, and solid, and the kitchen is holding up perfectly years after the work was done. > Jamie's price was very reasonable, and he did the entire project for pretty much the amount he originally quoted. There where a couple of change order charges at the end, but they were minor and fair. > In summary, Jamie is an old-school craftsman and a fair person with whom to do business. Having some experience in interior design myself, I wanted to do the plans and be somewhat involved in the remodel. Jamie was great about working with me and letting me be as involved as I wanted, but still gave his opinions when I needed them. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a great eye for design; he pays great attention to detail and his work is top quality. On top of that, he's such a nice person and a joy to work with. We had an 8-week kitchen, family, dining room remodel and I can say that he never overstepped his bounds and did something we didn't like...nor did he waste time involving me in decisions that didn't require my input. He always told me what he decided later that day and every time I agreed with his decisions. He did not exceed his budget and we got everything we wanted and more. Jamie worked very well with our designer to guide us through the process of completing the designs. His ideas and suggestions (even on the home theater components, which saved me a lot of legwork) were really valuable. He draws on a lot of experience and showed us concepts from other projects.
