My family is on a tight budget but we are very specific with our needs. The professionals at this company listened to what we wanted and provided exactly what we needed. All was completed well below budget. The original decor of the room was a mix of colors and wrong furniture. Tee'scape was able to redesign the room by changing some of the furniture to function yet beautiful items. Now we have nooks/hide-a-ways for the kids gaming systems and texture to the walls. It gets nice light but is just a desk surrounded by files right now. Should I keep the desk facing the window, and if so, what are some good office furniture ideas to include without sandwiching the desk in between them? A: I always feel your home office should reflect who you are and what type of things you do.......like if you have kids make it friendly for them also or just you and you partner/wife collaborate on what you both like for what I see in the picture you have natural light coming in so a darker tone would look great and a small seating area with a activity desk(if kids)..........two area rugs...media area............. **Q: need help with the paint color** *(in Design Dilemma)* New house....new furniture... From day one I have hated our dining room! The room itself is great but it is SO red that I call it the Devils Dining Room! The wainscotting is a deep red and the wallpaper above it is a red and tan plaid (old owners did this). We were given the dining room table, hutch and oriental rug as a gift so we will be keeping those. I would love to make the room seem light and bright but I can't get rid of the rug. What do you suggest we paint the wainscotting and what to do with the walls above? I would also LOVE to get rid of the sconses (and the ugly tree- please ignore that). They were installed unevenly anyway. The only problem is we can't really do a chandelier because there is a an A/C vent over the table!!! My living room is next to the dining and it is painted Touch of Grey by BM so if there is any way I could incorporate that color into the dining that would be great but not necessary. I basically would love for the rooms to flow but even something bold in the dining room would be a welcome suggestion. Just remember the rug must stay. I also have no clue what to do about the windows but I can deal with that down the road. I just really want to get rid of all of that RED!!! Thanks! I have many more pictures from other angles. A: try a nice light olive remove the chair rail ......remove the table cloth im all for keeping the table set at all times I love the "we have guest coming look".....all in all its a great space......NO RUG PLEASE **Q: Small living room help!** *(in Design Dilemma)* We have a smaller living room that I'm having a hard time decorating (we'll leave the fact that the furniture is terrible out of it for now). How can I make this room flow better? A: well the items you have in there are way too big and its too much of it try a smaller rectangular area rug with L shaped sofa and a coffee table would make the space feel bigger .....move the piano to the other side take out the little storage separator although they serve a great purpose its not right for this space....by moving both of those you add the appearance of a open floor plan......a nice floor lamp by the window ...take down the sheers and put up a wooden blinds......go a shade darker on the walls and viola........Tee'scapes **Q: Living room from scratch** *(in Design Dilemma)* What to do? We just went from a 1200sq ft townhouse to a 2500 sq ft real house and we have no furniture for this livingroom. Pictured are our couches which just arrived from Pottery Barn (color is "caramel"). There is also a white buffet straddling the living room & dining room that will probably be moved somewhere. The walls are beige, not sure about the shade. Can you recommend some (not too expensive) dark wood end tables for me? And coffee table? I also need an 8x10 rug. I'm leaning more toward a modern lattice or chevron, my husband wants an oriental. My feeling is that whichever rug we select will determine the color direction to go, which makes this decision tough. I'm very comfortable with light blue, beige, creme. But maybe this room needs red & yellow? Ack. (Also, does anyone have any experience buying stuff from those flash sale sites like Joss & Main or One Kings Lane? I'm worried to buy something like a big rug without seeing it...and also no returns...Hmm.) Also, the drapes can go. I bought them immediately upon moving in because we had no privacy in the new house. They are silver/grey with a creme medallion pattern. I thought they would "go with anything" but now they don't go very well with the medium-brown couches. Sigh. This room is quite dark so we were thinking yellow paint. Thoughts? And positive suggestions would be welcome!
