We had seen other Makena homes prior to our decision and knew that the quality of these homes was exceptional. The house we had Makena build is a large house - was a huge commitment for us. I can truly say that David and his team could not have been better. As can be expected, there were many decisions to be made but David was truly professional in not overwhelming us. He took the time to ask questions and listen to us prior to and during construction and, in doing so, was able to factor in our taste with his own design expertise. I had the opportunity to speak with others that owned houses that Makena built and I only heard positive things. I think one thing that sets David apart from other builders is that even though he builds great houses he is not just a house builder - he is an artist with decorating experience as well - it's about the finished product not just completing the construction plans. He is a good communicator with personality and he was upfront on changeorder work - I never felt blindsided, not once. We never felt like the schedule was unduly delayed or that there were any hidden costs. I can truly say that for us the process was enjoyable and I sort of hate that it's over.
