From the beginning I was not impressed, they only measured the kitchen once and that was before the remodel which ended up leaving me with an odd endwall due to inaccurate measurement. This after I asked them if they were confident in their measurements. I have no problem paying half in advance but I do have a problem with being badgered for full payment before work is completed and at this time were are still waiting for them to completed after 2 months. Don't be fooled by the company title Kitchens by Melissa, when actually its kitchens by you as you will pick everything out and also have to ensure the electrician and contractor know the details because they will not come to the job site to ensure everything is progressing as they had planned. Its seems their job is to put inaccurate measurements into a program, order your cabinets and badger you for payment before work is completed. Remember a happy customer tells 3 people and an unhappy customer tells everyone. **Comment from Melissa Schmidt:** > I'm very saddened to read this review as we take pride in a happy customer and have never had any reviews less than 5 stars. This is the first I knew that there was any issues. I'm unsure what you're talking about with an odd end wall?? We don't tell you that we're going to pick everything out for you, we're here for guidance. As for as the electrician and contractor, we talked many times with both of them on the phone and gave guidance. We're not a general contractor to hold hands with the subs and never said we are. As far as payment, when 99% of your job is completed and you're withholding over 20% of your payment that's why I asked for payment. We were waiting for you to finish base trim and for damaged product from our supplier. We tried several times to come complete things but you weren't home. Don't forget we we're very accommodating when you didn't like your floor color and switched it out for no charge, normally this would be a 25% restock fee from our supplier. **★★★★★ — HU-303612047, Aug. 2022** > She and her husband make a very good team. Such a great use of space. We also were able to order new wood/stain samples for me to view in person, when she didn't have in her collection. Our new build was a few hours away, so she coordinated well with my GC and were able to send them directly to the new home, even though they didn't do install. I love the cabinets and even the detail of underneath the uppers are finished off with the same wood and stain as the cabinet itself.
