**Q: Need advice on vaulting a ceiling and taking out a supporting wall tha** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We have been told to re-brace every truce against the wall and put in 2 LVL beams then put in columns that go all the way to the foundation. Will that be sufficient to take out this 21 foot wall?

A: I am a contractor and that doesn't seem like enough support.   We're are the LANs going?    Are your trusses sitting on the wall you are takin out!

A: Follow your roof line ,hip ,build out 10'front,10' sides and some posts.   Make it a mini version of your house just no walls.
